Files open only in the browser

Hello everyone,
I don't know why but since yesterday whenever I try to open a file from the program installed on the Mac, it opens automatically in the web browser.
I haven't changed any settings and until yesterday I always worked from the Mac.
Can anyone please help me?

File -> Open

Then select your project.

Yes I had read that you just open the file directly from "open," but I don't understand why until yesterday it would just open them for me from the window on the left. For what I do I go much better having the files in view listed visually.
Any ideas?

workaround is fine (File -> Open Then select your project.), but this needs fixing

Thank you all for the prompt response.
In the meantime, I will work from "open", and hopefully they will find a solution.
