Performance Problems

I am experiencing performance problems with Fusion 360, not only does it take a very long time to do minor changes etc it is often crashing. With nothing other than 360 running and with no projects open Fusion is using 1142mb of memory. When I load a project of 42kb this jumps to 2259mb, Is this correct or is there something else causing all the problems, any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

Would you please help provide below info for us to diagnose the problem?

When you encounter the crash, have you sent crash report with your email address? If not, would you please help send one?
Would you please share with us your dataset which you can reproduce the crash or memory issue?
Would you please share with us on your machine spec? including the OS version, CPU, GPU, RAM, graphics driver, etc.
