Can extrude all letters except "X"

I am modeling several disks with different names on them. I have successfully extruded several names but when I tried a name with an "x" in it, the extrude feature doesn't recognize the "x".

My process is as follows: Select the flat surface, create sketch, create text, change text to Brush Script MT, type the name and hit ok, right click text and click explode text, click extrude and select all the letters.

Any idea why "X" is not being recognized or how to fix it?

No idea really but Exploding the text should have worked. Can you use an alternate font? Can you share your file? Upper or lowercase?

It is a lower case x, I've already 3D printed one in a different font, but would like to know why its not working. The attached picture is after I've exploded. When I hover over the part you can see that the other letters are recognized.

fonts are very imprecise. The requirements for font creation are nowhere near as stringent as needed for CAD systems. Likely your lower-case x has a "leak" in it - curves that don't meet together. Sometimes you can just close that leak with another line. If you share your model here with the exploded text, we can show you how to find and fix the leak.

I'm having a similar problem with the number 3 in the Allerta font I downloaded from the internet. I can extrude all the other numbers and all the other letters I've tried so far. I suspect the "leak" you are talking about is to blame.

Can you show me how to fix the text? I'm not sure what you mean by "exploded text"

Attached is the .f3d file of my project with the 3 not working and a zip file of the font.

I was also able to confirm that the problem is limited to the number 3. No other character is affected. Please see screenshot.

Select the text, right click and choose "explode text" from the context menu:

This converts the text to native sketch curves. You cannot find or fix the leak unless you convert to sketch curves

What am I looking for now?

Are these gaps when I zoom in worrisome?

the best way to find the gaps is to draw some temporary lines across the text, then see what show up as a profile, and what does not. Moving the lines or adding new lines can help narrow down the problem.

No!

If you need this profile, create a separate sketch for it. This will make it easier for you to select it for Extrusions.
I would also separate the text sketch from the construction sketch for the numerous elements.
Then only activate the sketch you need for extrusions.
