Can't select specific faces with Joint "between two faces"

I am not 100% sure if this is user error or a bug, so I posted it in the bug section for now.

Fusion is giving me a headache here. I'm trying to build something with aluminium profiles, and to do it properly I want to also add angle connectors to the corners between the aluminium profiles.

This has somehow worked so far by using the "between two faces" function on the profiles like this:

However, for reasons I don't understand, this doesn't work on ALL sides of the profile:

No matter what, it just won't let me select the second face on exactly half of the profiles faces (the one in the video and the one furthes from the camera).

I don't know why this is happening, but maybe I'm also approaching this the wrong way? I just want to add these angle connectors to my design like this:

I just want to do this the right way so perfectly aligned with the profiles and "joined" in place. I figured using the joints would be the best way for this... not move it in place shoddily like I did for this picture.

Try the 2 outside faces of the groove, or a pair of parallel faces, (front / Back) works better.

But the question still stands, why does it work on two sides and doesn't on the other two?

The reason the “between two faces” option does not work on the original faces you selected is because they are parallel and on the same plane, there is no “between them” to select.

Hi,

For such cases, a joint origin can be defined whose axes are individually aligned according to specific requirements. requirements.

Yes, that's what I thought as well, but that doesn't explain why it works on two sides, but doesn't on the other two. On a component that is perfectly symmetrical.

check the angle and offset between these surfaces and share the file

Inspect tool says there's 0° between all faces. So I don't think that's it, unless I'm missing something.

I have attached the file as well. I'm eager to hear from you if it's just me or indeed a bug / inconsistency.

Ok something is seriously wrong here. Now I have one side that doesn't center the Plane in "Between Two Faces" mode. I have done the exact same thing with all the other sides.

What's going on here?!

EDIT: It works if I use the inner "Lips" of the Profile that are opposed to each other. But shouldn't it work with the outer faces as well?

Alright let's try again.

This is what happens on one side of the profile, note where the yellow plane is:

And this is how it works on all the other sides (as expected):

Now yes, thanks to your video I am aware the selecting the INNER faces of the profile is the way to go, but I am not sure why the outer faces, as shown in image, don't work at all or very inconsistently?

Thank you for taking the time to have a look at this, really. Appreciated!

So basically I made some kind of mistake in the Sketch, okay... but I'm not sure where that mistake was. I rebuilt it by using my initial quarter of the sketch and JUST mirroring it a couple of times, instead of using the "Circular Pattern" tool. That did the trick. I have no idea why, but it did.

Seems to be a problem with the Circular Pattern tool, or I made an unrelated mistake somewhere else.

Anyways, this is solved, thank you!

1.With the pattern tool, you have "only" multiplied the error.
2. The error has (presumably) arisen because there are not enough horizontal/vertical definitions for lines.
3. even if you get practice in sketching here, I would download such profiles e.g. via the "Insert" tab > Manufacturer part > and extrude them individually.
