Everytime I edit an old sketch, when it goes in edit mode the sketch is not centered

This was working perfectly fine before the latest updates, I don't know exactly when it started misbehaving, but that seems like super basic feature that should work. So either I have a configuration change that mess this up or there's a bug with this.

Basically, when I edit an existing sketch, it moves out of the camera view, far away, I have to zoom out or fit to screen to find it and I have to recenter the view on the sketch, every time.

Thanks for reporting this, that does not sound like expected behavior. When entering sketch edit mode, Fusion should generally keep the sketch in view or at least reasonably centered.

Could you please share:

A short screen recording showing:
- Entering the sketch edit mode
- The sketch moving out of view
The design file where this is happening
- .f3z preferred (or .f3d if it is a single file)

You can attach the file here, or if it contains sensitive data, feel free to send it directly.

So while doing a video to attach here I fixed it. I don't know if it will stay that way..

But here's what I did.
1) Create a new sketch on a part that already exists, sketch is opening but offset from center of view
2) Finish edition (did nothing in the sketch)
3) Double click again on the sketch, the sketch is now completely out of view.

4) Press Fit button

5) Finish sketch

6) Double click again on the sketch, this time it's back in the center

7) Try editing an older sketch on another part and NOW it's properly centered

It didn't fix itself like this before, so maybe I'm just lucky this time, I'll let you know!

Well nevermind, I have to press F6 everytime I edit anything for it to come into view, as if Zoom to Fit was no longer automatic.. Is that a setting?

Here's a video. Maybe that's a built-in setting I need to enable?

You can see that editing a sketch won't bring it automatically in the center of the viewport, I have to manually press F6.

What is your Home Position?

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file that exhibits this behavior to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

Not sure what you mean by home position, I created a sketch at origin in a new hybrid design.

I never use Grid, so my next suggestion would be to try without grid.

I don't see how another random feature would need to be turned off for this to work.

The problem is the sketch "Look At" feature not being sticky for some random reason.

I've read on these forums that sketch look-at is often broken.

For me, it orients the part and sketch correctly but it fails to pan the sketch into view... If I press F6 right after entering the sketch mode, it's centered correctly. So if that's a bug, it seems easy to fix for fusion at least.

So what should I do? Should I write a add-on that auto fit when entering sketch? Is that a bug of fusion? Anyone from autodesk here?

Thank you for sharing the video and file, that really helped in understanding and reproducing the behavior.

I have logged this internally as FUS-241628 for further investigation by the development team. We will review the “Look At” behavior and why the sketch is not being centered automatically.

In the meantime, using Fit (F6) is the current workaround.

Appreciate you taking the time to report this and provide detailed steps. I will share updates as we have them.
