using the sheet metal unfold re-fold technique, im trying to wrap these lofts along a circle to make a ring with a braided sine wave.

this works when the outer two braids are joined to the sheet metal piece (core) and then the ring is re-folded
the inner two bodies however (bodies 2,3) when joined with the others, and attempted to re-fold, fusion crashes.

there isn't anything particularly special about bodies 2,3 as they were made the same way as the other braids, but I don't know why this keeps crashing when I re-fold

Hope someone has some clues, thanks!

Hi @matthewkatzenstein ,

Thank you for sharing the details.

I attempted to reproduce the behavior on my end, and I was not able to get Fusion to crash. In my testing, the application appeared to hang during the Refold operation rather than terminate completely.

Could you please confirm whether Fusion is fully crashing for you, meaning the application closes and generates a crash dialog, or if it is becoming unresponsive?

If it is a crash, please share the crash report number that appears in the dialog. That will allow us to review the diagnostic data.

Alternatively, you can share the email address associated with your Autodesk account, and I can attempt to locate the crash report from our side.

For internal tracking, I have logged this issue as FUS-237870.

Once I have the crash report information, we can investigate further.

you are correct, yea, it hangs and requires me to force quit

I PM'd you my email (dont want it public)

I realized now, I left fusion open overnight, when I came back something even stranger was happening
screenshots attached.//

it seems once it computed this.... mess it happily unfolds and refolds in the expected amount of time instead of hanging but refolds looking like this
