I like a clean timeline, a well constrained sketch, as well as software that behaves intuitively. I have been using Fusion 360 for many years and at some point started collecting annoying bugs/behaviours.. (I won't even touch the EAGLE-integration here..) I was pleasantly surprised that while going through my list, some of my noted bugs have been seemingly solved. The rest of it follows below:

A - Default-setting for horizontal/vertical sketch-lines

When creating a line, it uses a mixture of "perpendicular" and "parallel" constraints. I highly prefer "horizontal/vertical" constraints for horizontal and vertical lines. I only need perpendicular/parallel on non-horizontal/vertical directions and where angles are in use. Mixing makes the sketch look messy and confusing.

Workaround: 1) Finishing the line, 2) Deleting mixed constraints, 3) Manually apply "horizontal/vertical" constraints

Suggestion: Offer a setting for a user-preferred default

B - Unnecessary double confirmation on export

If a file on export already exists, it's mandatory to confirm the override twice. Many people use Fusion for making parts for 3D-printing and iterating through multiple versions. This slows down the export-process and makes it really painful.

Workaround: None

Suggestion: Given your large user base with this use case, it would make sense to implement a feature to directly pair an exported file (STL, 3MF, STEP, …) with a virtual body within Fusion 360. Once enabled, the exported file should always stay up to date

C - Numbering of sketches and bodies (maybe more..)

A rather insignificant detail, but I wanted to mention it anyway: As soon as an Sketch/Body.. gets deleted, the numbering continues.

Workaround: Manually renaming them each time it occurs

Suggestion: Always pick the first available number per component

D - Moving bodies to a sub-component after extrusion

Sometimes the target component isn’t selected (activated), and a sketch/body is created in the root/parent instead of the intended sub-component. It’s possible to move a sketch after a component has been created—but why does moving a body create an extra step in the timeline when done manually?

Workaround: 1) Manually note values and faces of extrusion, 2) delete extrusion, 3) activate target sub-component, 4) reconstruct extrude with noted values
Suggestion: Treat moving a body into the component that contains its root sketch as if it had been created while that component was active

E - "Double fx-dimension" bug

When dimensioning something, the value is always preselected and gets overwritten with dXX when you click another dimension. Let’s assume you accidentally clicked the wrong dimension. You’d reselect the dXX and click the correct dimension. This can result in two dimensions being displayed in the field, as shown:

Workaround: 1) Re-re-select the two fx-dimensions, 2) Manually delete them, 3) Click on correct fx-dimension

Suggestion: Always override field if a text is selected

F - Seemingly invisible origin is visible

Under certain circumstances, the root origin is visible even though its visibility is disabled. This is hard to reproduce on purpose and tends to happen during long sessions.

Workaround: 1) Enable visibility, 2) Disable visibility

Suggestion: Investigate and fix

G - Fusion window minimizes after export

After confirming an export, sometimes the Fusion window minimizes itself—or rather, moves behind the window underneath. This is hard to reproduce on purpose.
Workaround: None
Suggestion: Investigate and fix

H - On dual monitor setups, Fusion-Window maximizes on the wrong monitor

When clicking Fusion on the taskbar after it has been minimized, it sometimes opens on the other monitor (and vice versa).

Workaround: Move the Fusion window manually
Suggestion: Always maximize on the monitor where it was previously minimized

I - Disable Play-Button

I regularly keep accidentally hitting the Play-Button and it drives me crazy!

Workaround: None

Suggestion: Offer a setting to disable it (or allow a user-preferred default).

J - Refining offset faces

When doing a face offset operation, you can directly pick the desired faces. However, when refining an existing offset face operation (by clicking its timeline entry), you have to hold CTRL to select additional faces. This may be confusing for new users, as there isn’t any hint about it. If you refine and click a face without holding CTRL, instead of adding that face it changes the distance.

Workaround: Knowing, that you have to press CTRL now, because you are in refining-mode

Suggestion: It should behave the same whether you’re creating or refining

K - Detect selection filter in projection operation

Let’s assume you are in sketch mode and previously used the Projection operation to project a body into a sketch. Now, if you select multiple lines/points/etc. and then click Projection, the preselection is lost.

Workaround: 1) Changing selection filter to "Specified Entities", 2) Manually re-select the desired entities

Suggestion: Don’t discard preselection. Instead detect whether the preselection contains sketch entities or bodies and automatically switch to the corresponding selection filter.

L - Unusable during update download

When starting Fusion, it always downloads updates in the background. Even on my powerful desktop PC, the rest of the software becomes slow, laggy, and effectively unusable. I appreciate the constant updates, but giving the user zero control feels unprofessional for a professional product.

Workaround: Disconnect from the internet to work offline.

Suggestion: Give users more control.

Some of this may come across as petty or offensive, but that’s not my intention. This is meant as objective feedback, and I really tried to illustrate each point clearly. I spent a considerable amount of my spare time writing this up, so I’d really appreciate it if these points were taken to heart! 😊
