Hi,

I have a logitech MX Master 3S (well 2, one at my job, one at my house), I love that mouse. I setup my button the way I like it, but every time Fusion needs to update I have to redo my setup all over again (twice, at home and at work). Because a new folder is created each time a new update comes up, I always need to find that weird numbered folder, then remap all my buttons. This is annoying!

I don't know if I'm posting this on the right forum, but please do something about this, Fusion 360 is the only software that I have installed that is doing this in logi option+.

However, this would be better directed at the Logi Options software side to fix as they are trying to integrate with Fusion. Our update mechanism has remained largely unchanged for the last decade, and there are many other apps that integrate with the dynamic update path without issue (for example, GPU and SpaceMouse drivers).

No. In fact your app and its non-standard installation method are to blame. You can't cite things like drivers as reasoning to backup your messed up method. Those aren't apps that would benefit from mapping custom mouse assignments. Fusion is.
There are posts begging Autodesk to change this install behavior becaues it causes a whole host of issues, this just being one example.
Maybe chime in? https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-support/mac-install-location/m-p/12881771
Please just install in the Applications folder like every other app!

Those aren't apps that would benefit from mapping custom mouse assignments.

That's technically true - SpaceMouse is mapping custom 3Dconnexion hardware input assignments, while graphics drivers are mapping custom visual overrides - but it doesn't change the fact that others have figured it out.

Perhaps more critically - these development teams have been responsive to attempts to our reach out and collaborate with our development teams. We have not heard back from anyone representing Logi Options.

Please just install in the Applications folder like every other app!

This is an entirely different issue. Logi Options seems to fail due to Fusion's side-by-side upgrade method, which downloads the new client alongside the current one in an adjacent directory - as a result, bindings are "reset" because Logi Options thinks its a different application based purely on execution path.

Installing in /Applications/ is a matter of user permissions - Fusion does not require elevated permissions to install because it installs per-user, not machine-wide. It is unrelated to third party software integrating with Fusion. Installing and updating in system-level application folders requires admin permissions, which we have sought to avoid. This could change in the future, but it won't fix Logi Option's issues.

Guys, this is just a really stupid excuse... fusion is the only app that "works" like that. Even for side-by-side install, you could have one executable that would not change it's location that would be executing the current version. It's like 10 minute fix for you I think...

You mentioning graphics drivers as an example is ironic as I have to manually re-add Fusion and AcCoreConsole to the Nvidia Control Panel to set the driver settings again after every fusion update.
