whatever creep. The answer guys as someone who uses all the bigs like Autocad, Mastercam, Solidworks, et al; to do it on Fusion, the only way so far that I have been able to work it the same way as Autocad is to use reference geometry when you do not see any snap options, such as on imported items. Using reference geometry for snaps is a workaround, hopefully a comprehensive answer will surface eventually.

Thanks for your response !

Just generally- in autocad snaps can be set to midpoint, ends etc and a whole
lot of other options.

Is this possible in Fusion ? say there is a midpoint on a line very close to
the endpoint of another line

and I want to choose the one or the other- to ensure that the cursor snaps
to the correct place?

Regards

Fred

Fusion 360 has the same Geometry Constraints that AutoCAD has. (But nobody in AutoCAD knows how to use them in AutoCAD.)

If you can't figure them out - then I recommend that you File>Export and then Attach your *.f3d file here for video explanation using your actual geometry.

Hello Chaps-

thanks for the answers- but we are talking about different things. I understand the constraints but it is the "Snap to" that I am asking about.

I use autocad 2D and there i can set the cursor to "snap to" various parts of an object.

Like I can set the snap settings to snap to the nearest endpoint in relation to wjere the cursor is at that moment or i can set it to snap to and intersection or maybe a tangent to a given circle.

in fusion am i able to set where the cursor will snap to in a like manner

many thanks

i have the same problem with Fusion, very frustrating. I'm drawing a sketch and want to move a rectangle from point to point, but I can't select the mid-point of one of the lines and move it to another chosen snap point.
