Is "Find in timeline" actually working? I have a design with a lot of features sketches, etc..., and is getting harder to find in timeline what I'm looking for, sometimes selecting a body wont work and on large timelines is becoming an issue, any pointers on how to solve this is much appreciated, my personal view is that this may not be working properly but any pointers will be much appreciated, for now the way is designed in my opinion may require an improvement, the highlight is nice but hard to catch when timelines are long, maybe making a larger marker or larger highlight when the part or sketch is found or "go to timeline" option when anything is selected so it goes directly where is located (I believe this exist) but haven't seen it.

Thank you

Can you add more detail? "Find in Timeline" works for objects which have a timeline representation. A Body does not have a single timeline item that represents it. A sketch does, a workplane does, but a body may have many features associated with it. What do you expect the behavior to be for "Find in Timeline" for a body?

Thank you, I'm guessing just from the point of view as a user, that the software may have the capability to know the location or position on the timeline for every part, sketch, body, feature etc.. just guessing that the software already tracks the modeling process, and I would like to click/select a part/body etc.. and be able to find it right away on the timeline, I don't think this is fully happening or as explicit that I think can be, the highlight is nice but my timelines are really extensive and when navigating trough the timeline the markings or highlights get easy lost when navigating, I would like to see a better indicator where the selected part/body etc. its located on the timeline.....that is one part of my problem the second part as a mentioned at the start is to add the capability to select on anything (meaning anything possible) and be able to find it on the timeline I may be wrong but as I said I'm guessing the software may be capable already to know what I selected and would like to find it on the timeline, the timeline feature is great and helps but now that my models are getting larger the timeline is getting longer and a bit hard to "find and go back" to a state on the timeline

And yes I'm sure I may be doing something wrong sometimes when trying to find something on the timeline but as a user for 6 years now and adding more and more to my models i feel the software may need a revamp on this feature if you like I can help on a zoom call to show you better my issue

Thank you for you attention

I'm not sure if this will help or not, but if you go to the "parents" tab of the "Select Other" (activated with a long left mouse button press), there is a hierarchical list of entities related to what is selected.

If you have a face selected, that will be the first item in the list, the next (for a face) is usually the feature that created this face. If you then select that feature, then you can right click and choose "find in Timeline", and that will get you to that feature in the timeline.

Again, though, that is for a face (or edge) selection. Selecting an entire body will not show this (again, because there is almost always more than one feature that can affect a body)

Here is a video to illustrate:

<video-js data-video-id="6385174553112" data-account="6057940548001" data-player="default" data-embed="default" class="vjs-fluid" controls="" data-application-id="" style="width: 100%; height: 100%;"></video-js>
(view in My Videos)

Thank you Jeff this works fine, hope the idea of making or having a better highlighting when a part/body etc.. has been found on the timeline can be taken in consideration, but this was good I can find now what I'm looking for way faster

Thank you for help

Hi Jeff this worked fine, now i have a question about this, does this works on a body or entity that is on a group on a timeline?, because i can confirm is not working when the group on the timeline is "collapsed", when I follow the actions on the video, the option of "Find in Timeline" does not show, and if this is the case can the team add a ticket and see if this can be updated so we can find anything even on a group?, and Jeff is it possible to now about fixing the DXF and DWG exports?

Thank you
