Can someone tell me if there is any prospect of an electrode extraction or design tool planned to be developed for Fusion 360

Hi @GRAEMESUQ2Y

Thanks for posting! Fusion 360 does not currently include any tools for electrode extraction or design, or wire EDM CAM operations. This has been presented at the Fusion 360 Ideastation at this link - please give it a vote if you'd like to see this option included in Fusion.

You could also consider looking into Autodesk Electrode. While I have no experience with Electrode, you could contact their team through the Contact Us page on the link to learn more about it.

I make electrodes with fusion 360 on a regular basis. It works well with the the cam feature of making stock negative for the over cut. Fusion even says in the discription of stock to leave, negative stock is used for electrodes. If you need more information I can help.

The first step is to create a sketch of the outline of your electrode over the top of the area to burn. Next, extrude to cover the area of the burn fully. I also model the system 3r holder on top of the electrode. Use the split body command this will give you a reverse image. To Machine the electrode I use the negative stock option in my toolpath so let's say -.015 axial and radial that is your overcut. You may also have to use the surface modeling feature to get your electrode the way you want. A word of caution sometimes you have to alter your negative stock depending on how the surface machines in the simulation using the compare feature. Once you get it figured out it works well.

Hi looking to create an electrode from this model for a test with Orbiting I tried to mirror the face but it only reversed the letter not the form will Fusion do this

This may take some surface modeling, or try using boundary fill to extract the electrode. It can be done.

I guess I didn't understand the problem description.

It looked like to me that you already had an electrode designed in the assembly that you Attached.

I projected the outer edge of the tip into a sketch, extrude then combine cut. See attached file.

the part is what I sent I need the entire face form reversed on to an electrode so I can create the cut path for a Mill
