The new Texture Extrude command is a nice addition. However, the help article mentions 'Projection Type', but there is no such option in the command, it would be nice to actually have this option for curved surfaces, similar to how the emboss feature works, ideally adding a 'shrinkwrap' projection (how Decals seem to work).

The help article in question: https://help.autodesk.com/view/fusion360/ENU/?guid=MESH-TEXTURE-EXTRUDE

Another limitation is with mesh density and aliasing. You need a high mesh density, higher than the 'high' setting on Tessellation. These kind of textures by their nature (be it for 3D printing, injection molding, or just rendering) will usually require details that are smaller than 0.5 mm.
Ideally the tool should dynamically remesh/subdivide when applying the texture, allowing some control over the process.

It would very useful if we could control the image size using dimensions, for when you need a consistent texture across different models.

On the plus side, if you tesselate with the quad option enabled, you might be able to turn the mesh into a T-Spline (Form) that can be used to cut a solid.

Has anyone had an update on this? - I'd really like to use this feature, but can't see it. I suspect it didn't make the last release, but wonder if there's any likely timescale when this might appear..?

It's just a weird situation, the Projection Type feature is objectively useful, yet it wasn't implemented, making the Texture Extrude tool less usable, which reduces its use and reduces the time Autodesk invests in it, leading to it never being implemented.
