yes. There is no difference in reading old designs between the commercial and personal versions. Designs should fully interoperate between different license versions always. If you are on a personal license, you will be limited in what features you can access for creating new designs, but old designs should always be able to be loaded.

When I open Fusion 360 I get a message at the top of the screen that says in August 2025 older versions of Fusion 360 will no longer be compatible with some kind of system upgrade. I can't yet afford to buy a new Mac computer to download the newest Fusion 360 software upgrades. When I do buy a new Mac computer and download the newest Fusion 360 software after August 2025 will I still be able to open and use my old Fusion 360 files created before 2025?

Screen capture of the message? I know as Apple runs out of California place names to use for their OS, Autodesk is just a few paces behind saying that in a few months time ***(insert picturesque California locale) will no longer be supported.

Yes, I know versions of Fusion 360 after early August 2025 will no longer be supported. What I need to know is will all my Fusion 360 files of objects I designed in Fusion before 2025 still be available to me when in the future I download the latest free version of Fusion 360. Sometimes when updated software is installed then files created with an older version of the software can't be opened.

Lewis Forro

Older designs will ALWAYS be supported (assuming they were created with production Fusion - if you use Insider Fusion, there can be incompatibilities between some versions). We test with designs created in every back version of Fusion, all the way back to 2013. If you experience an older design that cannot be loaded by the current version, that would be considered a serious bug.

Thanks for writing. I have a free personal account version of Fusion 360. Is that a production version so I will be able to open old files created before August 2025?

Lewis Forro
