"Failed To Retrieve Configuration Data" Error after most recent update

When I try and change a configuration in a drawing this message pops up. "More Info" link does not produce an explanation.

I've tried this with existing models and drawings and old models with new drawings. When I try an new model to a new drawing I get:

Which also froze Fusion.

Please address, this is a major inconvenience for our business. We're back to the pre-configuration days until there is a solution for this.

These are configured sheet metal parts.

Sorry about this issue you are experiencing. Could you give me a few more details:

- When was this Configured Design created? Is it brand new created in the last few days or is it older than that? Reason I ask is we deployed a change a couple of weeks back that is supposed to fix an issue. Not sure if your issue is related to that, but just asking.

- Can you open your Configured Design and check if. one or more rows in the table are missing. If they are, that might explain the errors you are seeing. If so, can you go through the steps to clear your local cache and restart Fusion as described here.

- Lastly please attach your log files with steps described here and send it to us.

Hi,

The model files date back to 11/28/2023 and were previously updated as recently as 7/11/2025 before today. The drawing tied to this model is originally dated 1/21/25 (template update). I was able to get a fresh new model to work with a fresh new drawing with configurations, but I'd rather not recreate all my templates just yet.

Not seeing any missing rows in my configuration tables, I will keep the cache clearing and reset as an option, got a few things I need to wrap up before I can start troubleshooting more.

Sure, let me know what you find once you clear the cache and go through your problematic workflows.

Also, can you clarify what you mean by "I was able to get a fresh new model to work with a fresh new drawing with configurations"? Did you create a new configuration that you were to create a new drawing for?

Hi,

Looks like it's still an issue with the old drawings. Not much of an issue now, it's pretty easy to remake these files from scratch and they work faster than the old ones did before.

For what it's worth, the old files had over 100 configurations and about 160 save versions, so pretty heavy files.

Hi,
I've just solved it with a customer by recreating alphanumerical folder:
1) Close Fusion
2) Go to this location: C:\Users\<yourusername>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360
3) You will find there alphanumerical folder with latest Date modified - rename it by adding "_old" at the end
4) Reopen Fusion and check if it works
5) Let me know about the result

I have the same error issue when I tried to insert a configured model to another model.

This solution fixed it!
