Flat Pattern Cuts Not Appearing in Folded Model

Hi,

I'm currently using Fusion 360 version 2.602.1.25, and I'm encountering an issue related to Flat Pattern behavior in Sheet Metal mode.

I created slots and holes on my sheet metal part while the Flat Pattern was active, but when I return to the Folded view, these features are not visible.

Additionally, these operations do not appear in the main design timeline, which makes it difficult to track or edit them later.

Is this expected behavior, or is there a recommended workflow to ensure that edits made in the flat pattern view are retained properly across both views?

Hi,

1. Modify > Unfold instead of flat pattern

2. Create your cut out

3. Refold

Yes, it works – thank you for your help.

While testing further, I noticed that commands like Fillet, Chamfer, and others are also available in the Flat Pattern mode, yet they don’t seem to have any effect on the folded model.

This made me curious:
What’s the purpose of allowing these modification tools in Flat Pattern mode if their changes don’t carry over to the folded part?

I’m not directly asking you, of course — it’s just something that caught my attention, and if anyone here knows the reasoning behind this logic, design, or flow, I’d genuinely be happy to learn.

Hi,

The same applies for a chamfer as for a slotted hole.
Unfolding > chamfering > refolding

> then flat pattern at the end
