Non-English characters in text fields

In text fields in popup windows (like Part Number and Description in component Properties) it is impossible to enter non-English characters, in my case Polish ones. On polish keyboard these characters are usually inserted with right Alt (like rAlt+l, rAlt+s etc.). In Fusion these key combinations just do nothing.
It is possible to place text with these characters using Copy/Paste from Notepad, however it is pretty annoying.
Maybe you could fix this in some future patch 🙂

Thanks for posting! It is unfortunate that you have been unable to enter non-English characters into Fusion 360 dialogues because the Polish keyboard combinations are not recognized. As we strive to make Fusion 360 accessible, I have logged an issue with our development team (FUS-32618) about the behavior you are experiencing and they will be looking into supporting these keyboard shortcuts in a future update.

To help them research this issue, it would be beneficial for you to share the operating system you are working on. It would also be very helpful if you could create a screencast illustrating the inability to use the Polish characters in Fusion and attach it to this Forum thread.

Thanks for quick reply and hope for fix 🙂
My operating system is Windows 10 Home.
I also made a screencast, it seems that for same reason keystrokes for polish text are not recorded... I don't know why.
Anyway, keystrokes for polish chars are Right Alt + letter (one of a,c,e,l,n,o,s,x,z) or Shift + Right Alt + letter for capital letters

Thanks for recording the screencast and the explanation of the Polish characters! I will be sure to keep this thread updated as our development team works towards a fix.

now it is not possible to write or copy+pase method 😞

Before last update I can write special letters without problems.

Welcome to the Autodesk Community Forum! Thanks for posting.

I have just tested the use of Polish characters within the most recent update of Fusion 360 (v. 2.0.3803). I am going to log an issue about the Polish keyboard combinations not being recognized with our development team.

Could you please try once again if the copy + paste workaround is an option? It should be working fine (see the screenshot below).

I have checked again and the copy pase option works correctly, it looks like I have a damaged keyboard. However, using the keyboard I can write Polish letters in Notepad etc. but in Fuison I can not type directly from the keyboard. A few weeks ago I did not have a problem with it.

HI. Today i try to rename some components and polish characters don't work. The "copy paste" metod work, but it's work around. Any updates on this issue?
