Perhaps you need to adjust the orbit center, because orbit center is too high?

If you right click in the workspace there are two options. Set Orbit Center and Reset Orbit center.

Could you try using reset Orbit Center and see if that helps?

Thanks,

Hi Folks,

I use the Solidworks Pan, Zoom , Orbit shortcuts (setting in Preferences/General). I believe that since the last update, possibly early May? when orbiting, the whole scene/environment seems to tilt either to the left or right. Before, it used to be possible to press the middle mouse button and just spin the scene as if it were lightly constrained to an equator. Now, the tilting action is like the scene is balanced on top of a ball and when orbited it slips off the ball either to the left or right.

Hope I explained that ok.

Kind regards,

Ed.

Hi Nathan, thanks for your reply.

I tried as you suggested but it still seems to operate the same. It definitely feels different to previous versions, earlier in the year.

I'm sure this was an issue highlighted by John Saunders in one of his early Fusion videos about a year or so ago and was subsequently fixed. But it looks like it's returned.

Kind regards,

Ed.

Hi Nathan,

..and anyone else who finds this. I found the problem.

It was the setting for Default Orbit type in Preferences/General. Mine was set to Free Orbit for some reason, I'm sure I haven't altered that. After changing to Constrained Orbit everything is cool.

Thanks for your help, it is much appreciated. 🙂

Regards,

Ed.
