Unfortunately, that is not the issue. My problem is that there are several files that do not even show up in the data panel, as their first versions are stuck uploading. The other versions that were stuck all have edits that are not shown in the data panel either. So by doing what you suggested, I would not be helping anything for the files that are stuck.

In other words, when I switch to offline mode, it will get rid of those versions that are uploading.

What can I do about this? If you need more data from me I am definitely willing to provide whatever is necessary.

Ryan

Hello

I've been using Fusion 360 quite some time now, probably almost a year, and I've run into a worrying issue. There are several designs I have been working on that are stuck in the uploading state. I have no idea where the files are, and they don't show up in the data panel at all. It's been several days for some of the files at the beginning of the list, and I don't really know what I can do about it.

It is very important that I don't lose those files, as they represent several days of work. I've looked at a few other posts about uploads but I'm afraid if I delete my jobs.json it will delete the files that are currently in the job. How do I recover these files and what can I do to make sure everything returns to how it was?

-Ryan

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the Fusion 360 community! I am sorry to hear about the issue. Could you try the following steps to see if that helps?

Overwrite Queued Files in Offline Mode

Manually select to work offline on the offending computer.

Open the design with the issue from the data panel while in offline mode.

Save a new version of the design while in offline mode.

Go back online and see if the design will sync.

Manually clear out the upload Queue and upload meter

1. Close Fusion 360

2. Browse to:

Mac
Macintosh HD > Users > *** > Library > Application Support > Autodesk > Autodesk Fusion 360 > *** > W.Login

Windows
C:\Users\***\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\***\W.Login\

2. Make a copy of the entire W.Login folder and save it to a different directory for safe keeping

3. Delete the Q directory and the UploadQueuedFileList.xml

4. Delete the jobs.json and the jobs.json.lck files located in:

Mac
Macintosh HD > Users > *** > Library > Application Support > Autodesk > Autodesk Fusion 360 > *** > P.Login

Windows
C:\Users\***\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\***\P.Login

5. Restart Fusion 360

Hopefully this helps! Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Nathan,

No, I am not seeing that error, it just simply won't sync the files. My log files are attached below.

Strangely enough, when I checked back on Fusion today, the list of jobs to upload has diminished to only four. Granted, those four are the latest versions of the files that were trying to upload before, so that doesn't really say much, but I thought I would include it for information's sake.

Ryan

This is a bit ugly. The problem is that the first file in the queue wasn’t queued properly. It was called _Full Printer Carrige_V2 - New Carrige w/Spectra Ink

The slash in the filename is causing some issues.

To start, browse to:

C:\Users\***\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\BSLKLQ6ZZ8C3\W.Login\Q

Make a copy of everything in this folder and store it in a folder on your desktop. Don't remove anything! Just make a copy.

The other files seem to depend upon _Full Printer Carrige_V2 - New Carrige w/Spectra Ink, which is causing them to have upload issues as well. Do you happen to know if the "_Full Printer Carrige_V2 - New Carrige w/Spectra Ink" was ever restored from a recovery file? The slash should not be there and I'm not sure how it got there. Any insight you can share on this would be really helpful.

Does _Epson Printhead cleaner slider file depends on _Full Printer Carrige_V2 - New Carrige w/Spectra Ink? It seems that these files may be x-referenced. If so the epson file might have stored a link inside it to the carriage file which makes things a bit tricky.

If not we remove_Full Printer Carrige_V2 - New Carrige w/Spectra Ink from the upload queue manually and it should get things going again.

To do this:

1. Close Fusion 360

2. Open Windows Explorer and browse to:

C:\Users\***\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\BSLKLQ6ZZ8C3\W.Login\

In this directory, you'll find a file named UploadQueuedFileList.xml

3. Edit this file with a text or XML editor and then delete the first line:

<ID_7385660d-3c29-4025-8c33-c6315782d66d DocId="" OriginalFile="***/Local/Autodesk/Autodesk Fusion 360/***/W.login/F/_Full Printer Carrige_V2 - New Carrige w/Spectra Ink.ebaf337e-8a1e-40de-951b-9112e403969b.f3d" QueueID="3" QueuedTime="20170526T091643.065917">***/Local/Autodesk/Autodesk Fusion 360/***/W.login/Q/7385660d-3c29-4025-8c33-c6315782d66d.f3d</ID_7385660d-3c29-4025-8c33-c6315782d66d>

4. Save the changes

5. Restart Fusion 360

Plan B goes like this:

1. Use the File > New Design from File command to open the file that ends with the below text stored in the folder we made on your desktop. Note if there is a slash in the filename, rename it before opening the file.

7385660d-3c29-4025-8c33-c6315782d66d.f3d

2. Use the Save to change the name of the file (make sure there is no slash)

3. Try using the File > Export > Export local archive command to generate a new f3D file (no slashes in the name)

4. Open the Data Panel and Right click on the design named Full Printer Carrige_V2 - New Carrige w_Spectra Ink

5. Select Upload New Version

6. Select the f3D from step 3.

7. Save the design -

This should overwrite the existing design file in the upload and get things moving again.

I hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Nathan,

Thank you for the detailed reply. It is possible that the file with the slash in it was restored from a recovery file. Now that I think about it, it is quite strange that I was even able to save it with a slash in the file name.

That file is actually quite old and was just left hidden in one of my new assemblies mostly by mistake. Whatever version is already in the cloud is good enough haha. The other file you referenced does depend on the _Full Printer Carrige_V2 - New Carrige w/Spectra Ink, which is also quite old.

When I opened Fusion after deleting the line in the xml file, it seems that the upload queue just completely vanished. I don't know what happened exactly, but it seems that one of the files that I was working on, as circled in the screenshot, seems to have vanished as well. I don't know where it is, but that was the file that I needed back.

That being said, all the other files seem to have returned to their previous states how I saved them, which is good. Any further insight would be helpful as I would like to get that file back.

I did happen to save an old file and that did upload so I guess the queue is fixed. I added the latest diagnostic files for reference.

Thanks,

Ryan
