Hi all, Our school can no longer access the fusion 360 program, just says failed to download whenever trying to open a file. Nothing has changed it just stopped working one day. Does anyone have any experience setting up 360 behind a smoothwall UTM? I've tried the "Do not use proxy server for addresses beginning with" setting for all of the listed urls, allowed all the relevent urls through the webfilter and even added the pc i'm on to the list of exempt ips on smoothwall, bypassing all webfilters etc. Still coming up with the same error message.

Hi @Anonymous

Thanks for posting! We are sorry to hear that you have been unable to access Fusion 360 on your school computers.

When you installed Fusion 360 at the school, did you use the lab install procedure or download Fusion 360 from the Autodesk website? If you used the lab install procedure it may be time to manually update Fusion - this could potentially cause the inability to open files.

Having a look at the application log files may give us some insight into why Fusion is unable to open the files if the proxy server is blocking it. Please gather your diagnostic log files using this procedure (if you are able to open Fusion) or these instructions if Fusion 360 will not launch and attach them to this forum thread - I am happy to have a look!

I also wanted to include some of our resources on setting up Fusion with a proxy server. I have included some links that may help below - it seems like you already added the trusted sites but please have a look to see if there is anything you omitted.

How to Modify Proxy Server and Firewall settings for Fusion 360 (Windows)

How to Modify Proxy Server and Firewall settings for Fusion 360 (Mac)

Ports and Domains required by Fusion 360

Adding Proxy Server Information to Network Preferences (Windows, Mac)

Hopefully this helps us get started! I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Paul

Thanks for your reply. Fusion was installed on the computers before I started at the school this month, however It looks like you were right. I downloaded the installer on one computer and installed it manually and this resolved my problem! Does fusion not automatically update when its been dished out using the lab install procedure? If that's the case, With there only being around 25 computers that use the software here would you say I may be better off manually installing on each one so it auto updates?

Regards Tom
