I have a problem getting a DAZ model I imported over to stitch and I can't seem to wrap my head around it. I managed to successfully convert the quad mesh to T Spline and then brought it over to the modeling workspace so I don't think there are problems with the mesh but I might be wrong.

So if anyone who is able to shed some light on the problem, that would be appreciated.

Public link : http://a360.co/2szT2oq

Thanks,

Jia Jun

Hi @Anonymous,

Thank you for reporting!

Briefly, the mesh is too an elaborate model.

Therefore, we should modify around the mouse and eyes.

To change from the surface to the body, all surfaces are closed but around throat is opened.

You would modify it whether using the mesh program or Fusion 360. please modify it following my suggestion, meanwhile, I'm going to try it (my laptop is too slow, so I will check it using my desktop tomorrow)

If you have any further questions, please let me know.

Many thanks,

Ahreum.

Hey, @ahreum.ryu , thank you so much for replying!

I did as you suggested by closing off the gap on the throat and eyes. Well actually, I tried isolating the eyeballs along with the eyelashes out from the model using Maya to see whether it'd work, however this time, I wasn't able to bring it over to the model workspace. It kept saying 'edges or faces may be crossing' despite not seeing any highlighted edges signaling an error. What are your thoughts on this?

Here's the updated link: http://a360.co/2tDfvm9

Thanks,

Jia Jun

Unfortunately Fusion 360's code is very picky as to what it converts into a solid body and when it returns a warning, or error message it does not actually point out WHERE something is wrong. That sort of nonsense is all over Fusion 360 making it difficult to evaluate what area of the mesh Fusion 360 is concerned about.

I've tried before helping out users on human models, sometimes just a head model, but it is trial and error to find out what part of the mesh Fusion 360 might be unhappy about.

Hi @Anonymous,

Thank you for sharing modified model.

As @TrippyLighting mentioned, Fusion 360 doesn't show up which areas have the issues. So it's difficult to find a problem.

When I checked with a Boxed display mode, I suspect that surfaces around nails, toenails, and eyes would be distorted.

[Utilities] - [Display Mode]

Do you need the model having a rectangular mesh? It's possible to convert to the body having a triangle mesh without going through the Form environment.

Here is how to change from mesh to body and please find attached the model.

If you have any further questions, please let me know.

Many thanks,
