Hi Ahreum,

I am editing a body that was imported from a Solidworks assembly.

As a test I saved a copy of the body I am trying to pattern the holes in and there are no issues. The pattern feature works as expected. It seems there must be some issue with the assembly.

I also noticed a couple other strange things with this particular assembly. When I was adding a joint my hole assembly would sometimes flip its orientation when unrelated components were jointed. It seems like Fusion 360 is having an issue with some reference or coordinate system in my assembly. Maybe it is best if I save the individual components and then rebuild the assembly from within Fusion 360 instead of importing the solidworks assembly.

I will try to install screencast tomorrow so I can show you what is happening.

Thank you for your time!

Fraser
Rectangular Pattern

I am an experienced SW user and I am struggling to get simple commands to work with Fusion360.

When I attempt to pattern a feature, the directions that I select and adjust (as confirmed by the preview) get flipped 90 degrees when I complete the pattern feature. (ie the horizontal direction becomes vertical and vertical becomes horizontal. I then attempt to edit the pattern to change the spacing or quantity to make the flipped directions and the some of original patterned features remain in addition to the now corrected pattern.

I also notice that when I edit the pattern a different edge is selected for the direction than the on I had selected originally. I also seem to get different resulting patterns by clearing the selection for direction and then reselecting the same one. I can't figure this out but seems there is a bug where the referenced direction is getting messed up.

This software appears to be very buggy so far...

Hi @Anonymous.

Thank you for reporting!

To reproduce our issue, would you mind sharing your design? here is how to share it. (my email address is ahreum.ryu@autodesk.com)

I tested with simple file as you mentioned, but I was unable to reproduce it. Could you explain how to reproduce it?

If you use a screencast, it will be easy to commuicate with development team. Here is how to use the screencast and download

I look forward to your reply.

Many thanks,
