Hi @Anonymous

Thanks for getting the screencast up and sending over the file directly! I believe this is an error in which the current limitation of Fusion that usually results in the "Cannot Unwrap Cyclical Geometry" warning would usually come up. I received the same results as you in your file - I could not find a way to avoid the error with a 2D Adaptive wrapped toolpath.

I was able to generate a wrapped 2D Contour toolpath for the same geometry selections, and received some very strange results when creating a wrapped 2D Pocket operation. I have shown this in the screencast below. As I believe this is an issue with the error messaging not triggering the "Can't Unwrap Cyclical Geometry" warning and is instead triggering an Internal CAM Kernel error. I have logged this issue with our development team (CAM-8275) and will keep you updated with any new information I have to share. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

As development addresses this problem, you may be able to work around it by using either of the two techniques presented at this link to avoid the cyclical geometry error. Please let me know if you have any questions.

I am trying to do the wrap tool path as Mike described in the tuturial using the 2D adaptive and pocket. I get a kernel error no matter what I do.

I have uploaded a screen cast that I'd like to keep private.

Thanks,

Thanks for posting! Would you mind sharing the Fusion 360 design in which you are receiving this error with me? If you'd like to keep the design private feel free to direct message me a public link - I am happy to take a look.

Hi Paul. I am issued with this same massage, I even uninstall the programme but still the problem persist when wrapping a 2d tool path on a cylinder.

The profile turns blue upon selection of profile and unwrapping cylinder.

Warning: Lifting retract plane to safe plane.

Error: Internal CAM kernel error. Please report through your support channel.

kind regards gerhard
