Hi Kostas,

Thank you for sending me the files. The issue is reproduced in my machine. I've reported this issue to our development team to investigate it. Meanwhile, as a workaround, you can reuse the template file by placing the flat pattern view inside drawing.

OK, so I 've been having a few issues with sheet metal these days. Now, this happened and this is serious. Because, I saw it but if I didn't have it would have messed up quite a substantial order (in terms of volume)

This is the part, the drawing is attached as a pdf. I actually export to dwg and sent this. Then did a sanity check. Leaders of the bend identifiers are repositioned to be easier to see.

Not only, did it not identify all the bends. It go the angle wrong too. This is massively weird!!! Help please.

Hi,

When I check your attached picture, I find that there is a block (solid body) as the first feature in your design's Design History. Did you import part of the sheet metal from other software before you created a flange in the design? I also only saw three flanges in your design, which is quite possible that you only created two bends in Sheet Metal workspace. That might be the reason you only see two bends in the bend table.

To verify my guess, could you send your model to zhixin.ni@autodesk.com? I can have a further investigation on it.

Thank you

Hello Mike,

Thanks for taking the time to make a Screencast video for me. Yes, exact same workflow. And btw, you can call me Kostas.

I am having a lot of trouble with my Sheet Metal. First I tried to make a new rule on my laptop (Windows 7) and it didn't make it and then erased all my rules from the library. Then I used Fusion on my PC (Windows 10) and had all the default rules and stuff, but when I tried to work on the project that the problem occurred I ended up losing my rule library on my PC as well.

After all this, I made new rules from the one in the "In This Design" portion of the Sheet Metal Rules dialog, but that means I currently have rules only for Steel. Now, the project in question is an assembly that has imported Solidworks parts, imported Inventor parts, step files, Fusion360 models and Fusion360 Sheet metal models. One of the Sheetmetal models is a mirrored component of another Sheetmetal model with a big 36mm clearance hole deleted (selected the face and deleted it).

The problems started when I tried to make a drawing of the mirrored part. It gave me the table of the original part. That meant that the direction of the bends was noted in the reverse ("mirrored") direction. And from then on it would only give me the table of that original Sheetmetal part. I have parts with only one bend and it gives me that same bend table with the 2 bends.

P.S. You can find a different forum post where I discuss the Rule Library issue. Still unsolved, though...

Hello Nick,

Thanks for taking the time to look at my problem. The reason is that the long U section of the part was created from an open U sketch profile. And then there are only 2 more flanges.

Also, you see that there are warnings in the timeline because I tried to save that particular component as a different file (Right Click --> Save a copy as) in order to make the drawing because I already had issues with the previous sheet metal part drawings. When I did that, references to other parts in the Fusion360 assembly file were lost.

Kostas,

As Nick mentioned your time line makes it look like your are starting your design with a solid. Here is a quick video showing the workflow for a simplified model, based from what I can understand from the pdf. http://autode.sk/2y1sleA

You commented that this part is a mirror of another part? From the image it looks symmetrical and I am unable to determine how it was mirrored. If you can share the model, I will take a look. You also mentioned the rules and library. I am not sure how you were able to delete the default samples. The good news is that they are just samples and I would not use them for production. At the end of the video from the link above, I go through the process of creating a new rule and add it to the library.

I hope this helps,

I seem to have found the problem!!! I had made a drawing template with my title block and border. I made a new one that does not have a cover page because I couldn't get a flat pattern in more than one page (that one is probably me, still looking at that).

Every time I use that one I get the bend table of the part that was present when I made the template. When I do it "from scratch", it works fine!!!

OK, sorry I didn't read through your entire message. This part isn't mirrored another one is. And it's mirrored around the midplane of the sidewalls of the "U-shape" of this part. Sorry, but when I'm "excited" I talk (and write evidently) too fast.

As for the rule library, not only the default ones but the entire library was emptied, including the ones I'd made. On the other thread I made, on the rules library, someone kindly attached a file that included every default rule. Copied to the library and they're back, so it's easier for me to remake my own again (only had a couple more anyway).
