unable to move file to another project folder via autodesk360 access

I'm trying to reorganize my files as I'm just learning F360. Up to now I just had one project folder. I made a new top level project folder and tried to move some of my 3d files to the new folder. I'm unable to move some of them via the F360 app or the A360 web page. Please see enclosed screen captures.

Thanks for posting and welcome to the Fusion community!

Sorry to hear about the issues you have been having trying to move your designs between projects! I see that you had created another post linked here for a similar sounding issue, so I will try to address that post here as well.

I did a few quick tests here on my machine using both the Fusion UI and through myhub.autodesk360.com, and I found that I was unable to move designs between projects if the designs contained externally referenced components - designs that did not contain externally referenced components were able to be moved with no issue.

I'm honestly not too certain what the as-designed behavior is supposed to be here, so I have reached out to some members of the development team and will circle back here once I have something to share!

Hi Mike, that's for the note.. So If i use one design file linked inside another design file, then I can't move either one of the files? Via all in the cloud files?

Hi Mike, I think I just answered my original post question...

It seams that you're right about the linked files... I didn't fully understand the caveats of linked files in designs.

Please correct me if I'm wrong:

So linked files only work from within a project. Once linked, neither file can be moved or deleted from the project. Even if the link is later broken in subsequent design versions in the same project, deleting or moving a file outside the project to another project is not possible? So If I want to share designs, I can't use a "master design" file across multiple projects. Only a copy will work.

I just did some quick tests to confirm this project F360 "architecture"

Surprisingly, this is still an issue, and no descriptive error message is given.
