Unable to select face to use the mirror function since update

Hi,

hope you can help. I recently was requested to upgrade Fusion 360 and since then the mirror function hasn't worked.

I attach a video of me being able to mirror a couple of parallel lines but not able to select a face to mirror (the mirror window didn't record but hopefully you follow what I was trying to do).

I was sure this worked prior to the upgrade and can't see anything else changed where previously I was able to mirror the images on the attached video.

Hope you can help, let me know if anything isn't clear in my ask.

Please attach your Fusion model. If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

These "faces" are comprised of an extreme number of objects so the mirror will take a long time. The one I did took over 3 minutes to finish. I am on the newest version of Fusion. Please note the final mirror and the number of objects.

I would model this with curves rather than teeny tiny little itty-bitty lines.

I would probably mirror features or bodies rather than sketch elements.

Thanks for confirming the problem here. This outline of this picture was imported from a dxf which is where the many small lines came from.

I was looking online for a way to join them but have not seen anything. Zooming right in there appears to be no gap between the small outline lines.

Is there a way you can suggest to join these many tiny lines to longer sections.

Let me know if this warrants a fresh thread.

Do you have access to AutoCAD - you could convert to a spline.

I recommend that you use only as reference in creating arcs and lines in Fusion.

thanks. It looks like using the spline tool in Fusion would work. I'll draw a spline close to the outline and then delete the bitty lines.

One more thing I noticed (apologies, deviated way off original issue) was that I can't use window selection to select lines and data points in sketch. I ave to use freeform.

Is this a limitation on my pc?
