Do you think you can mark this as resolved, with the other thread as the "solution"? (just if you feel that fits the situation here) I want to start getting the word around and that is one way to start.

It seems that a new UI bug has surfaced in this version. I'm on Mac with Mac OS X 10.11.6

I can't figure out the pattern to this unresponsive window issue. I'm trying get the actual event that kills the window. It happens quite often now.

It is very much an issue in sketches. Rollover highlighting doesn't work and you can't click on anything in the window. Even the view cube is unclickable at times.

I figured out a workaround for making the main window contents active again. I create a new design which adds a new document tab along the top of the window. Switching from the new Untitled design document back to the other design document seems to force F360 to make the main window active again.

- Noel

Found a trigger to this problem... if I just use the Mac OS X dock to switch to another app and back again. This problem surfaces. However it is not consistent!

Same problem here. And same solution. Sometimes it also works to create a new design or switch to a different design tab and back.

But haven't found out a consistent trigger. Very annoying

macOS 10.13.2

Fusion 2.0.3800, but has been doing it since forever (>1yr)

Thanks for posting and sorry for any trouble.

Have a look at this thread. We are aware that some 3rd party software, i.e. things that people install on their Macs, may be interfering. This post seems to back that up, and has some good advice for troubleshooting.

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-design-validate/view-cube-becomes-deactivated/m-p/7709583#M147108

Can you try some of the steps regarding accessibility settings and let us know if it helps?

Hi Phil,

Thanks for the response and tip. I've messed around with it a little bit, and it appears to be triggered by changing focus (so for example clicking Safari or Finder when in Fusion, then going back to Fusion. I cannot select the view cube, nor are any mouse-over selects highlighted. I can, however, use the rectangle select. Changing tabs within Fusion then resolves the issue again.

I do have some applications (Dropbox and BetterSnapTool) appearing in the Privacy tab, as mentioned in the thread you suggested, and I've tried removing either and both their permissions. Unfortunately, the issue remains. I also read about Chrome being the culprit, however I use Safari (though Chrome is in my Applications).

Another suggestion, zooming with the trackpad, has no effect. In fact, I've recently had panning and zooming also totally fail, requiring Fusion to restart to resolve it. Though I haven't managed to reproduce that yet.

I will now try to disable bettersnaptool and dropbox in System prefs, and restart my Mac. Then we'll see what happens.

Cautious optimism... That actually seems to have solved it (restarting). Havent' tried them separately, but I guess it must be Dropbox, BetterSnapTool or both.. Actually, the entire UI is much snappier now. I like 🙂

Thanks!

Now only learn to live without bettersnaptool...

Thanks. I should test the BetterSnapTool, that sounds like something that may bother the UI selection layer in Fusion.

Chrome was a red-herring. It just happens that the problem is much worse when people have dozens of tabs open, so it seemed for a time like Chrome was the culprit. But you are right in that something is not completely giving up focus when switching back to Fusion. Perhaps some applications are more aggressive, such as the tool mentioned.

Please let me know how it goes.
