I am totally frustrated in trying to use Fusion 360. I have a project I am working on. It involves a three dimensional form that, among other things, has a post at one end. I want to place a capital P on the post. I construct a plane that includes the top surface of the post. I try to add a text component (the P) to the surface. It comes out upside down and backward. OK. I can flip the figure to set it upright – but it is still backward! I have done this before but I had to try so many things that I no longer remember the sequence that finally worked.

As much as I like what I can design with Fusion 360, I’m beginning to think the problems outweigh the advantages.

Bill Baker

Wbaker520@gmail.com

Hi @Anonymous,

I assume that you are referring to sketch text here. Sketch text is oriented so that it is "correct" according to the sketch normal. Did you know that you can flip the text?

Hi Jeff,
I know how to rotate the text 180 but it is still backwards when I get
through. If I want to shift its' position I can play around with that with
the MOVE command but that has a number of probllems too.

Can you supply a screencast of what you are seeing? Maybe I am not following correctly. The screencast I showed is not a rotation, it flips text from "backwards" to "forwards" in orientation:

I also, am totally frustrated. In the response to the original question there is an attached video with a screen shot of Fusion 360 screen.....my downloaded trial version looks completely different. I was able to find a "Sketch" button by right clicking on the screen, but the pull down has no "text" choice. I sure wish it had a command line and just type in "Text". It would be so much more intuitive....Help!

Hi, you can search in fusion by typing "s" and it will bring up a search menu. From there, type "text" and the text function will appear. Hope this is helpful!
