Hi,

I've found two bugs:

When custom material library is added to Manage Materials dialog, and after that it is deleted permanently from disk, and again I open Manage Materials dialog, this library is with exclamation point badge. If I remove this library from the list and open again Manage Materials dialog, this deleted library appears again:

The second point:

If I have my own material and I would like to change the path to texture file, I should:

Edit appearance (it will add my appearance to Favorites);

Change the path;

Click Save;

Add/Return ths appearance to my library.

Unfortunately, This edit is not saved and the path to texture is the old one.

Hi @grazvydas

Thanks for posting! I had a look into the behavior you described and think I can provide some clarification.

Firstly, I found that I could trigger the yellow exclamation mark by deleting the library from my hard drive if I left the Manage Materials dialogue box open while the local .ADSKLIB file was deleted, but the yellow warning (and the name of the deleted library) would disappear if I closed and reopened the Manage Materials dialogue. I've shown this in the screencast below - please let me know if the behavior you are experiencing differs from that. If you are seeing something different, it may help me recreate the issue if you could record a screencast of the results you are getting.

As for the changed texture file paths, we need to remember that we are actually creating a new appearance when we edit the Fusion 360 Appearance. This appearance will not automatically be renamed, but the changes will be maintained if you add the altered appearance to your favorites (in your favorites). For example, if I edit the "Oak - Semigloss" appearance from the generic Fusion library and then add that edited appearance to my favorites, the changes will only be shown in the new copy of the "Oak - Semigloss" appearance in the Favorites section, but it will not edit the generic "Oak - Semigloss" appearance shown under the Fusion 360 Appearances tab.

Hopefully this helps! Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Paul,

Thank you for your answer.

There is my Screencast video. (please, pay attention to the paths):

Talking about the deleted .adsklib, i resolved it when restored deleted file from recycle bin and then removed from the list material adsklib file. trying to replicate this issue it did not repeat it again. Maybe it could be affected that the same adsklib was attached to Inventor's project file and Inventor was launched at the same time.

Hi @grazvydas

Thanks for the response! While I was actually unable to recreate this behavior on my machine, I reached out to some other members of the team who found that the issue was present when they went to recreate inconsistently. To continue investigating this behavior, we have logged FUS-37320 with the development team, who will be continuing to investigate this behavior. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention!

As I have been unable to trigger this problem behavior on my end, it is hard to say what may help you work around this limitation. The folks who were able to recreate this behavior found that it did not occur 100% of the time - does this behavior occur every time any material/appearance is edited for you? You could try saving to a folder local to your Windows profile - while I have not seen any problems with using the public folders in my tests, it is possible Fusion is struggling to update the files at the specific locations on your machine.

Hopefully this helps! We appreciate you bringing this to our attention!
