Mirror fails to copy fillet, chamfer, and pattern features

I like to work with symmetry instead of duplicating work on both sides of my object. Thus, I will finish a set of edits (multiple features) that make up one thing on my model and then mirror all those features across to the other side. I've never had issues with this in Inventory, but it rarely, if ever, works in Fusion.

Here's a a very boiled down example. I have a a set of features (an extrude add, an extrude cut, a chamfer, and a fillet on 4 edges) that make up a\n lip. I then pattern that 3 times. Finally, I want to mirror all that to the other side. only the two extrudes of the original features get mirrored. If I change my mirror from identical to adjust, all the extrudes (including the two patterns) will mirror, but still no fillets or chamfers.

Thank you for posting! Unfortunately I am unable to provide an explanation of why Fusion can't mirror those features right now but I'll reach out to the development and circle back here as soon as I have more information to share.

In the meantime, could you try splitting the body into two and then mirroring the body as a workaround?

In this case, the box is simple enough that a cut and mirror-body would work, however that's only because this is an example file that isolates the issue without any other variables. In actual production it's often impossible as the entire body might not be symmetrical, but only parts of it (the parts I want to mirror). Interestingly enough, even cutting away half of the body and then mirroring it as features still fails. It only works when mirrored as a body.

Thank you for your response! I just found in our internal system that the same issue has been logged as a defect (FUS-17319) with the development team, and they are currently working on this.

I apologize for the inconvenience this is causing. I will post an update as soon as I have one.

Hey @masa.minohara, this is a bit different (patterns failing to pattern, instead of fillets) but probably related to the same underling bug so I figured I'd drop this in here too.

I created one corner of a peg and shelf for a component to sit on, then patterned those circularly around a point, cut out a matching hole on the wall, then path-patterned the entire set 5 times. As you can see, the elements that were created by the circular pattern failed the path pattern.

Also, on a slightly related noted, the ghosted preview of a pattern feature is really difficult to see, often getting lost in shades of the model. Inventor does a much better job of this with a lit wireframe outline. I would love if we could get something like that in Fusion!

Hi @DigitalZilla,

Thank you for reporting another issue! I've logged it with the development team for further investigation. (FUS-37380) To work around the issue, I needed to pattern the hole on the wall and bodies separately, and I also used a sketch line for Path instead of an edge on the body.

It seems I have the same issue after 2 years of this post.

I'm trying to mirror a cut-out with two fillets. Impossible.

Do you know if this problem is still related to this bug?

Hi,

for such things I prefer the "Type" "Faces" instead of "Features".

But in this case features work with the "Optimized" option.

It seems also not to mirror correctly with the mirror 'faces' command (see attached image).

Neither does the mirror 'features' adjust/identical/optimized work.

I am fairly new in Fusion 360 (however, with extensive Solidworks experience).

So this is the first time the problem occured for me.

Perhaps it has something to do with the file being created with sheet metal tools?

In any case, the error should not occur. Do you know what the problem could be?
