This appears to have fixed the crash issue. I was still getting the error when generating the tool path. I tried changing the font (which worked fine) but that didnt fix the error. However, after deleting the Setup and recreating the setup & etch tool path i was able to get it to work as expected. Was also able to go back and edit the sketch, change font, and regenerate cam tool path.

Thanks for the quick response!

After using Fusion for many months with no problems, I had an auto update on 12/6/17 and after that Fusion stopped working. It crashes randomly on MANY different Model & CAM operations and sometimes just opening a file.

I've uninstalled and removed everything from AppData/Local/Autodesk & AppData/Roaming/Autodesk then reinstalled. Same issue.

I've tried creating a new design and experience the same thing. I was able to get further with a new design but just creating a rectangle with square in it then try creating a CAM Setup and it will crash. Open the same file and try to create setup or edit sketch and crash.

Also, there is no file recovery after it crashes like I've seen in the past. I've yet to be offered a recovery to a file since this started happening.

Has anyone else experienced this and is there a work around?

Is there a way to turn off auto-update or go back to an older version?

Version 2.0.3793

OS: Windows 10

Thanks,

Tom

I am told this was fixed earlier today on the server side. So you should not be crashing now. Are you still seeing crashes?

If you do, please send in each CER report, we are tracking this closely.

I am able to do *more* but many things still arent working and I'm seeing crashes about every 15 minutes doing basic sketch editing.

UPDATE: I spoke too soon. It still isnt working. Things that have caused crashes in the last 20 minutes: edit sketch, select CAM, delete body, new sketch, save sketch. In CAM, I have an existing file with tool paths that were generated (and even cut) but when I try to Generate them I get an error indicating there was an error generating.

FYI: I have a 2nd computer (laptop running Windows 10) that I have also been using Fusion on without problem. After it got the update tonight, I experience the same problems on it as I do my desktop. Sent at least 1 CER from it.

Same issue. Several crashes - at least once per day, I am on an i7 with plenty of RAM. A lot of UI bugs too: points in simulation no longer selectable, holder geometry no longer highlights the portion you are editing, sometimes the parameters panels scroll when they go past the edge of the screen and other times not; saves sometimes hang and freeze the application, at least a half a dozen others. I literally just had it crash with two files open, then when I tried to save them again, it caused the UI to freeze and I had to kill the application. The application was working great for a long time, this new update is not worth the problems, I'd rather have fewer features and more stability. Thanks

@tauga, we have a fix from the CER reports. From your description, it seems more general issue than what we found with a certain work flow. Would you mind attaching the file that can reproduce the issue (or PM to me)? I would check the issue you met is exactly the one we are working on.

One work around that you can check if it works for you. If you have texts in the sketches, delete them and then run CAM.

Thanks,

Attached is the file (Test v1.f3d). I had already tried removing the text and it does not affect the problem. There are 8 sketches with text and 1 without. In CAM there is 1 setup that is failing. Please note I've tried other toolpath operations and they ALL fail.

Today I tried to rebuild the full file and was able to without any crashes. However, toolpath '7 (x2)' is not generating the toolpath for the number '7'. So I decided to edit the sketch and try another font and it crashed when editing the sketch. I also attached this file (Test Rebuilt - Wont Etch 7.f3d). Submitted CER for this with note containing this file name.

@tauga I can reproduce the issue with the files. And confirm that the issue you have is the same one we saw and is solved.

Since you work on the texts from the sketch, while the work around needs to remove all the texts in the sketches, I understand why the work around does not work for you.

Rebuild the file without any geometry modification may avoid the issue, but that is something rare happen.
