So I am trying to bridge two faces together that I created by inserting an edge via the insert points tool on an extruded face. Whatever I do including flip 1 or 2 it still self intersects. I have tried it on various models and I get the same - Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug? Any help appreciated. Thanks

I've been a Maya user from v1.0! I recently discovered fusion and have been
very excited to learn everything i can about it. The model is really a
series of tutorials that i wanted to make and post on youtube about fusion.
I have to say that i really really like fusion however there are a few
quirks here and there that still make maya a little faster in creating
certain things, however fusion's boolean capabilities are the best i have
seen...i feel fusion's selections and editing in say the sculpt environment
is much slower than in maya's - not as fluid. If i select an edge vertex
for example the manipulator tool obstructs the view and placing it
where one wants to is difficult, if you want to add edge loops the options
are somewhat limited again - cant add across multiple geometries at the
same time for example...just a few thoughts and perhaps off topic...as i
still cant get why the bridge tool doesnt do what i need it to do!

T-Spline modeling is unlikely ever be as performant or fluid as in Maya.

While modeling in the T-spline environment "feels" very similar to modeling in a Sub-D modeling environment, mathematically T-Splines are a different beast.

Dub-D models are created by subdividing a mesh using a variety of subdivision algorithms with the most known probably catmull-clark. But even a subdivided mesh is still just a mesh and there are not that many intermediate steps necessary to tesselate that mesh for display in the viewport.

The basis off a T-Spline is a control mesh just as with Sub-D's but then a T-Spline has to be converted either directly into a NURBS or at least some intermediary requiring heavier math before that surface then can be tessellated for display. This poses a much heavier computational burden.

If you are comfortable in Maya I'd continue to model there and then convert the control mesh/cage as a .obj, import it into Fusion 360 and convert it into a T-Spline. I personally use Blender for this and it works perfectly. This allows me to use the full toolset Blender has to offer for Sub-D models. I am sure Maya has a vastly superior tool set for this as well. Heck, if you want parametric T-Splines, just rig the Sub-D using the animation tools and you have full parametric control of the the T-Spline.

This is one reason I've suggested to the Fusion 360 team several times to also use the AnyCAD technology for .obj meshes. Not sure they are getting it!

I could not get the bridge tool to work on your design either. Not even with a guide curve!

You'll have to use the "Create -> Face" tool and Create 4 faces. If you want to Add edge loops, you'll have to use the subdivide tool.

I have tried different scenarios to pinpoint the problem. To me it seems
that if the extrusions are skewed enough then the Bridge tool does not
work. The same design when my extrusions are straight then it works. So it
seems that this is a bug that interpolates the bridge edges differently
according to some cutoff angle. It also doesn't make sense in my opinion
that one has the ability to flip the direction but not have full control to
flip the direction (Bridge tool) all the way around...!
