CPU/GPU consideration for Future Fusion 360!

Hey Guys,

The following questions are not only for me, but also for the many guys/girls out there, who are planning on upgrading or building a new pc in order to achieve best performance with Fusion 360.

The bottom line is, most of us don't have an unlimited budget, so we need to make sure, we don't spend too much $$$ for HW that won't do anything for F360 performance.

1. Is there any near-future plan to optimize F360 for multi-threaded CPU? Currently F360 is more about CPU Speed only!

2. Is there any near-future plan to change the F360 Rendering engine so it will use the GPU and not only the CPU? (or the ability to chose CPU/GPU in KeyShot)

The below picture shows the current System requirements for Autodesk Fusion 360. It is unfortunately not specific enough and doesn't give any information on what HW will give the best performance!

Hey @Anonymous,

In your case, i3 is not enough! You should have a least i5 for F360.

Another thing, some SVG files can be VERY demanding for F360, it depends how complex they are. The sketch environment is THE most demanding for F360. Which is why it is very important to keep the sketches clean and simple! Instead of creating one complex sketch file, you should divide it into 2 - 4 sketches if possible.

I hope this helps.
