Change direction of threads created using Coil

I have a part that I'm working on which is an anti-backlash nut for a 2040 aluminum extrusion. The part is attached here. I've created threads in this using the Coil functionality for an Acme lead screw which has an 8mm diameter and a 2mm pitch. As you can see from the design screenshot the threads slant towards the left. However, my leadscrew (image is shown here) has threads that slant towards the right. How do I reverse the threads in the design? I tried creating the coil from the far end than the backlash adjustment end but that didn't work.

Hi @bhrishikesh,

I think you are looking for the Rotation option in the Coil dialog! If you right-click and edit the Coil feature and enable this, you can change the direction of the threads.

Are you aware from Drafting 101 - that when you do a section of a threaded hole the thread "appears" to be reverse direction of the mating screw?

Geisecke et al 15th ed

Try it out - place mating screw into the assembly.

Try it out in the real world - go out to the shop floor and cut a nut in half.

What do you observe?

Hi @bhrishikesh,

What @TheCADWhisperer said is correct... sorry for my oversight on this one. The rotation tool is used to change the rotation of the threads, but as he mentioned, when using the section analysis the direction of the threads will appear reversed.
