Prior to using Fusion 360, I was using DraftSight and created a custom title block. However, when I tried to import this into Fusion 360, I received an error message stating:

"This DWG file can't be inserted because it contains one or more blocks or xrefs..."

A little research suggested that I use AutoCAD to create the block. So, I downloaded the demo version and created a new title block as shown in this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-7jLmof7A4

However, I still get the same error message. Can anyone help me please?

Hi @d_starmer

Thanks for posting! It looks like you are experiencing some problems when importing a title block from AutoCAD to Fusion 360.

The message you are receiving is often remedied by using the Explode and Purge commands to clear any blocks or references from the AutoCAD file - this is described at the link here.

Hopefully this helps! Please let me know if you have any questions. If you continue to experience problems, please share the DWG file with me - I'm happy to have a look.

Hi d_starmer,

It sounds like one of these unsupported objects is still in your drawing. Sometimes a block that isn't inserted but is still defined in the drawing can cause this message to appear, I'm guessing this may be the case

Open the titleblock drawing again in AutoCAD, and type PURGE. You'll see a dialog appear and in it you can expand Blocks to see if the drawing contains any. You can then Purge the block and re-save the DWG. If the block is part of your titleblock, you'll need to EXPLODE it first, then purge it.

If that doesn't do it, you can launch PROPERTIES and select everything in the drawing (I usually ZOOM EXTENTS first to make sure there's nothing out in space), then expand the drop-down at the top to see a list of all of the entities in the drawing, that should also help in tracking down the objects causing the issue. If you still can't track it down, please attach or send to christopher.miller@autodesk.com and I will take a look.

Thanks,
Chris
