Extrude Operations "cut" and "intersect" are not in the populated list.

In Patch Mode, when trying to extrude a spline into a body, the only operations available are New Body or New Component.

Cut, Intersect and others are not listed. I have been doing this for a while, but after yesterdays update, its gone.

Or maybe I was imagining it?

Please let me know if there is a bug or maybe its my fault.

I think it is your imagination. The only thing you can extrude from a line is a surface as a New Body or New Component. You can then use the surface to split a body or face if you want. You can also make a line into a sheetmetal feature using the Flange tool but I do not think that is what you are talking about.

I have other surfaces that I created by extruding a spline into and body and using the intercept operation.

Thank you for your posting!

To my knowledge, In patch environment, we can't use the intersect option. Because there's no volume. The Patch consists of the surfaces which mean it opened so that it can't figure out the volume. In help menu,

Intersect Removes all material from the solid that does not overlap the new feature.

If you can share what you want, I would find the way in patch environment using other functions.

Im doing some surfaving with ovebuilt surfaces and want to keep the intersecting surfaces. If there is volume to the intersections it can create unwated facetsand sides.

To create the intersect, i can extrude to create volume with the overbuilt surfaces, them intersect. This would require the need to unstitch and delete those surfaces volume to get to that simple spline intersect.

Any better way to achieve this?

Your steps would work as well,

In my case, When I work in Patch, I usually use Offset and Trim. If you want to create kind of this intersect model in Patch, you can use the 2 options.

Here is how to create kind of the model below in Patch.

There will be many ways along with the shape so it will be good if you can share which shape you want with an image.

Offset with 0 distance replicates that face with no changes to the geometry.

Would intersect be available together with extruding lines or splines in the future?
