Hello

Since recent updates my Fusion 360 has been auto saving ever few minutes or even after a few changes to a design. This is a new problem and I have tried restarting Fusion, my computer as basic potential causes. Checked/reset my computers time stamp. Changed the auto save time interval in Preferences, which does help until after the next auto save which is when it starts constantly saving every minute or so.

Anyone else having this issue?

- Windows PC

Hi @adwarbinek,

Thank you for posting! Just to check, are you looking for a way to reduce the frequency of auto recovery save? I think auto recovery save happens in the background, but is it causing any issues when working in Fusion? Could you attach the diagnostic log files that may contain some clues to what is going on?

@masa.minohara

I attached the log file.

Fusion is auto saving/auto recovery at irregular intervals, sometimes even each minute after the previous auto save. I had it set to 10 minute intervals, then changed to 30 minute intervals once this irregular behaviour started. It may also be auto saving after a few changes have been done to the designs - example: extrude a face, auto save, chamfer the edges of that face, auto save.

This behaviour is recent in fusion, and I use the program almost daily.

Auto Save is not at all working in the background. It stops your workflow - which is another issue I have read on this forum. When the design is large and has many parts the auto save locks you out of fusion until it has finished. This can take up to 5 minutes or longer at times which I'm sure you can understand is absolutely dreadful for workflow. Saving manually takes longer than auto save in that regard too.

I have history turned off as well since the project I am working on is very large with many parts. History slows down Fusions performance greatly when you have large project files.

Hope that helps! Thanks
