I'm doing what I always do trying to export a body to be 3D printed. I have already converted the body from T-splines to BREP as usual but when trying to then export a message below comes up saying must convert first but i've already done this. It things all bodies I try to export are T-splines even if they are just simple shapes that have never been T-splines.

"T-Spline bodies must be converted to be included in the exported document. Cancel and use the Convert command to include any T-Spline bodies."

I think this is only a warning you get if you are working without history enabled and you have a form in the browser. It should only be a warning and the export should still have worked and exported the Breps in the design.

Just did a quick test and get this, because there's a form in the browser.

The export is successful though and when I open the STP file I get this.

In the past were you working with history enabled? You only get this warning without history, I guess because Fusion can not tell if you've converted the form so gives you the warning.

The project does not have history enabled as it came from a scan and is a very organic complex shape with not a single straight edge or flat face. It has consistently worked this way for a year or so without any problems but has just stopped working.

Without seeing your design I can't help. I've just done several tests exporting from a design with a converted form and Fusion works like it has always worked. Might be worth saving the design, closing Fusion then restart and see if the problem persists after restarting. If it does you're going to need to share the design. If you can't share it on the forum, create a support case in your account and share it with support.

I've attached the body here. It's a wheelchair racing glove and is a very organic shape which gets tweaked as a T-spline file (Right quad remesh 13) then saved as a BREP - (Body43). I normally export combined as a stl file with body 2,3,4 and 16 as these also need to be moved around on occasion so I don't want to permanently join all the parts together. I'm not a CAD expert so my processes and saving of files may not be so good but I have got quite practiced at working on this sort of design. It has just thrown me that I now can't export it.

First, don't attach pictures! The forum software is rubbish and will not let you read the text and view a picture at the same time. You can paste pictures from the clipboard or use the insert photo option.

Not sure how you've done the export here so the bodies are highlighted in the browser. Are you just right clicking on the top node in the browser and selecting export or are you using export from the file menu? Also what file format are you exporting to?

Here is the fix, if you have t-spline error after converting to a body and it will not allow you to export

Steps to export:

Right click on the file name under browser

select capture design history

Select File from the toolbar, export to STL

After the export, you can stop the capture. I just spent hours trying to get this to work and that did the trick.

Garen M
