I have made a simple machine showing how a cam works. When i move the handle manually it works but when I animate the joint, it spins but the rod does not go up and down on the cam, but goes through the cam. When I go back to manual the rod goes up and down following the shape of the cam and work fine. It is a little jumpy but works. Please help. Thank you

You should line up the cam and the follower for best results. In this example, you do not want to use a Contact Set. You should use Tangent Relationship found under the Assembly menu drop down. I broke the link to the Cam component so I could return the model as a F3D file which is attached. Choose the "Drive Me" joint, right click and chose Animate Relationships.
