Loft preview differs from actual result

I have trouble with the loft command. I am trying to loft two faces consisting of a bunch of (intersecting) regular polygons into each other. When I do this, the preview of the loft command looks as I expect it. If a click OK, however, the resulting body is "twisted" in a strange way. Is this a bug? How can I get a body which matches the preview?

Hi,

In the Edit Feature dialogue box, select Profile 1. In the drop-down that appears, the Profile 1 radio button is selected, change this to Profile 2 and you'll see two more profiles added. Click OK and you should get this :

I have no idea what is going on here, I was just fooling around waiting for a completely different support problem to get resolved 🙂

Hi @swt70760,

Thank you for posting! This seems to be a bug to me and I need to escalate it to the development.

In the meantime, could you try grabbing a control points and putting it back to the original position, and hitting OK to see if that fixes the issue? Please see the screencast below for more details about the steps of this workaround.

Yes dragging the control point somewhere else and back again solves the issue (as does the solution proposed by @-Nick-).

I tried both the moving the control points around method, and the swap profiles methods with no success. Perhaps I have a different problem, but in any case, I would be appreciative of some assistance. Thank you.

Your file was misbehaving, I was able to fix it by eliminating ancillary profiles.

Edit your sketches so that the outline is the only solid sketch line, and the smaller outside profile is destroyed, making the unwanted interference, construction lines.

Why is the origin ignored on a cylindrical object?

Hi,

I'd like to report, that the problem with loft preview vs acctual results still exists. The suggested workaround of dragging and returning the control point to its original position works. Hope this can be fixed in the future.
