Mirror Components - Missing Instances

I have again a curious problem.

I have mirrored some components some weeks ago - made the drawings....

Now I fixed some screws and suddenly I had a lot of failure messages. Also the parts were disorientated.

Looking for the first error in the bottom line - it is the mirror command.

Opening to Edit - Objects: Missing instances - See attached picture

I think I had this problem before - but could not locate the problem.

But how can it happen, that the components got lost?

If I click on the Mirror button, the mirrored parts are indicated in blue. But in the 'assembly' they are not there.

Is this a known bug?

Now the drawings lost their references and all the joined parts are loose.

yes, this is a known bug. It has been reported here: mirror-losing-original-component-reference-after-update. It is being looked at with very high priority. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Hello Jeff,

Thank you for the quick answer and good to know, that the mistake is not on my side – which saves some time.

On the other hand, this is a huge bug which leads to several hours of making the model and the drawings new. I hope the hot fix can repair the problem ‘backwards’.

Can you estimate how long it will take till the fix is installed? Some days or longer?

I assume, that the bug is not related to the June update. I had a similar behavior before. This model I still have – if you like the link.

Question to the bug.

Is the fix already installed? Or do I have to wait?

I live now with some funny models but I want to avoid to mirror the parts and repair all the drawings again - and lateron the same thing happens again.

Could you give me an advice how I should handle this case?

@Bernd_CAD, thanks for following up. The bug has been fixed internally, and is marked for inclusion in the next update of Fusion. I don't think this update has been scheduled precisely, but the goal is to release it very soon, within the next week or two, is my guess.

Thank you Jeff for the answer.

Yesterday the fix was installed on my computer.

So, my next question ist how to handle the 'broken' files.

I have several containers which different versions.

Can I delete the last ones - in the attached picture -> 4 versions from top?

In this version the mirrored parts are still on their places.

But does

- the containers above -> where this container is inserted

- and the parts which are imported in this conatiner

still be o.k.?

Hi @Bernd_CAD, I think you should be able to just open the current version of the design and use Modify -> Compute All, and the mirrored component should compute correctly. If that is not working, you might try editing the Mirror feature, and just hit OK.

If you are OK using the older version of your design, you can use the "promote" command in the data panel to move that older version to become the latest version.

Hi Jeff,

Compute All did not recover the assembly.

So I arranged everything again.

Afterwards I pressed again the Compute Button everything was smashed again.

I do not know if I made the mistake, or if its still a problem in Fusion.

Is it possible to share the link to the assembly?

Tes. Right-click on the assembly in the data panel and select share public link form the menu.

Then follow the UI suggestions. You'll have to make the design downloadable, because there is nothing we can see in the web viewer that would help analyze the problem.

Hi,

If this might help to track that issue down I'm posting the vid I did. I repeated this few time so it must be some kind of bug.

In order.

1. There is the main model

2. I created the separate file where I created a model no 2. This is a mesh model.

3. That model has been included/linked into the main model.

4. Then model no 2 has been scaled up to fit required size

5. After update model no 2 I made a mirror operation. As you can see at the vid suddenly mirrored component stepping back to very old version of model no 2

Now I used the 'promote' command and moved an older version to the top.

No problems any more.
