Yes, I would say it's just a rendering issue, which was my suspicion from the beginning. The display of models is often simplified for performance purposes. You might find a setting in VariCAD Viewer where you can increase the quality at the expense of performance if you don't like the 'polygonal' look.

If I export a cylinder object from Fusion to STEP, the cylinder wall is not round but 32-paned. The same are the walls of holes. How can I improve the export to STEP to get nice round walls ??

Hi, I encose my exported STEP file for a simple cylinder.

The wall of the cylinder is 32-polygon in STEP, not round and not smooth.

I use the VariCAD Viewer to instantly see what is in a STEP file. It's very useful and quick.

So maybe this problem is in the viewer not in the Fusion.

I enclose the screenshot from VariCAD.

But on the other hand I use VariCAD for a long time and I saw many other STEP files and a cylinder was always smooth.

It's funny ...

Thank you for checking my file and solving my problem.

You are absolutly right. I found in VariCAD a setting how to increase the refinement of cylindric walls. So the problem was not in Fusion, but somewhere between my keyboard and my chair. 🙂 One is always learning something.

Thank you very much one more time.
