I am unable to export a model in .f3d file format. The pull down menu does not list .f3d as a type option. Iges, sat, smt and step are available. I am selecting File -> Export and selecting the Save to my computer checkbox. The Save to a project in the cloud checkbox is not checked. This is running on MacOSX 10.13.6.

Thanks,

Dan

Here is a screen shot. I checked a few other things. This only happens with certain models- with other models the .f3d option is present. This appears to happen with models that were exported from SolidWorks and modified in Fusion360.

Dan

Hi @Anonymous

Thanks for reaching out. It sounds like you may be working with designs that include x-referenced/inserted components - is this the case? You can tell by checking your browser for the chain link icons shown below:

If you are working in a design with x-referenced components, you'll need to download an F3Z file (Fusion native distributed format) by sharing a downloadable public link of the design with yourself and downloading a Fusion archive copy through the link.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have questions.

Hi,

If your file contains linked elements, a project file (f3z) is always created.
But if you want to export an f3d, you have to remove the chain symbol with right click > Break Link.

günther

The same thing is happening to me. Feels like my own work is being withheld. I've trouble shooted for days and done what has been suggested, broken the links, deleted timeline history, removed sketches, removed external components, even sacrificed some of my more complex models in the project and still I cant export the desired .f3d file. I have actually ended my subscription to Fusion360 this year. I refuse to give any more money to them for an inferior design package and incompetent support staff. The advice they offer doesnt work for this issue. It's a messy piece of cloudbased bunk.
