I can not make a 2D Drawing. I also cannot access a previous 2D Drawing. I am doing this through a work computer and would like to avoid uninstalling and reinstalling but I do need a solution fairly quickly if possible. Thanks in advance.

Hi @whittakerdw,

I'm sorry to hear that! Please try these steps: (You may need to have "show hidden files and folders" enabled to perform the process below. Please refer to How to enable hidden files and folders on Windows for more information.)

Go to the ProgramData folder on your C-drive.

Enter the Autodesk folder.

Delete the FusDoc folder.

The path is:
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\FusDoc.

Please let me know if you're able to open Drawings after doing that, or if you run into any trouble trying this method!

Thanks for the additional information - let me check around to see what info I can find about this. In the meantime, can you check to see what version of Fusion 360 you're running? You can find that in Help > About in Fusion 360. The version should be 2.0.4383 after last night's update.

Hi all

If you uninstall Fusion and reinstall you will not lose any data...

Why does Drawings fail to start? Most likely it's because some files were left behind by the Update. This can happen if the files were somehow in use when the Update executed (they cannot be removed in this situation)

I recommend in situations where Drawings fails to start up

uninstall Fusion 360

run the Fusion360 cleaner app

reinstall Fusion 360

I hope this solves your issues

Really, the best way to solve this is as I explained above.

As it's your work PC, if you are unable to uninstall yourself, then you may have to involve your IT admin.

Right click your Fusion desktop icon

click 'Properties'

in 'Properties', click the 'Open File Location' button. This will open Windows Explorer to the base folder of your Fusion launcher folder.

Next, go up 2 folder levels

Now in Windows Explorer, enter in the search box "accoreconsole.exe"

Right click the resulting AcCoreConsole.exe and click 'Open file Location'. This will open a separate Windows Explorer Window which we will use shortly.

Now close the "accoreconsole.exe" search using the 'Close Search' button

Next search for (exclude quotes) "d3dcompiler_47.dll"

Right click the resulting d3dcompiler_47.dll and click 'Copy'

Finally, in the new Windows Explorer window that was opened at the AcCoreConsole.exe search results (item 2.1) 'Paste' the copied d3dcompiler_47.dll

Now try Fusion Drawings

At this time, we think it maybe caused by Windows Update, are all of you on Windows 7?

I have not tested this, but perhaps a better solution that the one I describe above is to manually install this Microsoft update...
