Thank you for the video I watched it on my phone but I couldn't see all the details so now I am watching on a computer.

I want nothing but for Fusion 360 to be the world leader in CAD CAM. Reread all my praise in my other posts. I wouldn't want to buy SolidWorks no way can I afford it. I like Fusion so much I have convinced the company I work at to purchase it, in fact everyone I talk to I rave about Fusion. Just trying to set the record straight.

This message was sent to Lars but bounced back.

Hello Lars

I would like to thank you for all the wonderful Fusion 360 videos. I love fusion I have just talked our company into switching to Fusion 360. I do have a question or perhaps an issue with Fusion. I have attached a quick model of a part. Its drawn in Solidworks the chamfer remains flat as it merges into the fillet which is fine. But I am unable to do this in Fusion I get errors each time. The closest I got was the fillet overlapping the chamfer but it was strange looking. Is there a way to control this kind of thing? I can send the fusion model as well if that helps.

Thank you again for all your hard work

John Y

I did not have your exact sizes but Fusion 360 will make the chamfers you are talking about. There are limits to sizes of both the fillet and chamfers because of the ability to create a meaningful result. By the way, I created the fillet then the two chamfers. Make sure you have "Tangent Chain" turned on when placing the chamfers. I have attached my model for your to play with.

Thank you for your reply. I sure don't get the same results. I am working in inches I don't know if that makes a difference. Also I have the time line/ history turned on. I just get an error each time I try.

John

I'Ve not worked with Solid Works in a while, but I am wondering if this was created with a single chamfer operation.

This can e done in Fusion 360 with the tools in the patch workspace and really is not that complicated, but it is definitely more complicated than just applying a chamfer.

This was done in Fusion 360 and the geometry varies slightly from the SW model in the area framed in red. With some more work this can probably be made to match exactly.

I think this is a real problem. This is the first time I have been stuck like this in Fusion. I mention this only because I want Fusion to be the best. In solidworks all I had to do was select the edge and it chambered it properly. Fusion should be able to do the same.

I don't agree that this is generally a real problem. This is the first time I've seen such a case here on the Forum in 4.5 years and I've responded to and helped many users here.

If it is a problem for you, then continue with Solid Works and pay the price. Its really that simple.

Hopefully you've learned something watching he screencast I prepared, so the next time a button click does not result in the geometry you had been hoping for you have gained some knowledge to deal with the situation.

Sketch1 is missing dimensions and appears to have illogical vertical relations and appears to be missing logical tangent relations.

Sketch2 is missing dimension and is redundant?

Sketch3 is missing dimension?

When I get a chance - I will attempt to model the same highly questionable SolidWorks geometry in Fusion.
