Create Construction Plane Through Circular Edge

Hi, in my workflow I have a lot of moments where it is useful to create a construction plane through a circular edge created through another cut or extrusion process.

Right now I can't seem to find an easy one step way to do this, even though a circular edge includes all the geometry necessary to define a plane.

My workaround is to create 3 arbitrary points along the edge and then create a plane through these, but this isn't great as it adds 3 unnecessary steps.

This feels like something that should be an easy 1 step process. How do I accomplish this in a single step?

Please see attached photos of the type of edge I am trying to use for my construction plane, as well as my current workaround.

surface tools > patch the profile > create sketch on this surface
