SolidMakePanel Not Found ! Error

I got this error (SolidMakePanel not Found ! Error)

I stared by using Fusion to import a MESH. Mesh came in successfully, converted to BRep. When i started to patch some of the faces I had issues if i selected too much. Finally it got stuck on one and hung.

Fusion had to be aborted and when i restarted i got this.

I did a restart of my PC and same happened.

I do not get the model dashboard any more.

Before i perform a reinstall is there anything easy i can check?

Fusion 360 Ver 2.0.4391

Windows 10 64bit (1803) Build 17137.228

Dell Lattitude E6540, 16gb ram, I7 4600M 2.9ghz Quad core

Thanks for posting. I have not seen this message occur before, so I'm not sure of any good troubleshooting to do before trying a clean uninstall/reinstall.

I would be interested to see if I can trigger the same sort of behavior with your mesh file - would you mind sharing it with me?

i was importing this. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3024079.

I had patched the top and bottom, extruded the base.

I was patching the rounded end when the crash happened.

I could collaborate the Fusion file if required?

Thanks for posting. I downloaded the files and was unable to trigger a crash in the STEP file.

I am unsure of if I followed your process correctly - would you mind recording a screencast illustrating the workflow? Screenshots showing the patch you were trying to create could be helpful as well.

The Fusion file may help and you can always attach a local archive copy to this forum thread.

I cant recreate as I don't have the Model and MESH workspaces any more. I will need to reinstall Fusion to correct this.

I have managed to get a local Archive. I have attached all versions I have saved

Just to let you know

I just did an uninstall and Reinstall and Still getting this error.

Ill try again with an uninstall, rebook and reinstall this time.

Thanks for the response and the files. I was still unable to trigger the crash - if you can remember exactly where you were crashing when the crash occurred, please try to show me. I've attached a screenshot of your most recent file version to this post in case you cannot access the file - you can mark this up and reattach it to your next post.

In the future, it would be better to work with the STEP file in the package in Fusion 360 - working with the STEP will give you a cleaner result than the mesh.

Can you confirm that you used the clean uninstall utility when you removed Fusion 360? Also, what is the current state of Fusion on your system? Will it launch after the error message is shown?

I'd also like to see your installation, application, and web services log files. If you can access Fusion 360, you can gather them using this procedure and post them on this forum thread. If not, use the instructions at this link to gather logs manually and email them to me at paul dot clauss at autodesk dot com with a link to this forum thread.

I think I have solved it. the Crash was a red herring.

UI Preview.

I think that's whats causing the above error.

It may be cause by an add in I have running or just that build.

Yes. When I go in and out of the program with the UI preview Switched on it causes the error. With it of I can go in and out with it fine.

I have not yet experimented with the scripts and addins to see if any of them are causing the issue

Hey there, I'd like to better understand the issue by asking you a couple of questions:

Do you currently have scripts and addins installed that is putting commands in the Make panel in the regular UI (Non UI Preview)?

Gotcha, thanks for the quick reply. Just to confirm, when you expand your Make panel drop-down (next to Add-ins), you see the same list I'm seeing in my screenshot correct?

Ah ok, thanks for that. I know why you're getting the error.

This is happening because the current UI Preview doesn't support 3rd party add-ins yet. We haven't completed the back-end wiring for add-ins to work properly. That's why when you were using the UI Preview, the 3DSplit add-in was trying to find the Make Panel, but the UI Preview has moved the Make panel under the Tools tab, and the add-in doesn't know of the existence of a Tools tab, hence why it returned a "SolidMakePanel Not Found" error. If you need to use the add-in, I recommend that you stick with the regular UI and not the UI Preview. We will definitely be supporting add-ins in the UI Preview, but it will take some time.
