Templates aren't a solution in dynamic development.

I am having issues with editable title blocks in Fusion.

Text using the txt.shx font I had in my exiting title blocks does note show in Fusion. When I export the sheet in DWG and open in a DWG editor the txt shows.

If I take the DWG that I exported and change all the text to Arial and then try to bring it back into Fusion, the fusion file closes/crashes but Fusion it self does not crash.

Any help is much appreciated.

Regards,

David Bigham

Hi @dbigham

Thanks for posting. I think we are hitting a few issues here.

First off, the issue with text not being shown has been logged internally as FDWG-10055. It looks like the txt.shx file is missing in the directory used by the Drawings workspace after the previous update. The drawings development team is working on this issue and hope to provide a fix in an upcoming update.

For the time being, you may be able to work around this by adding the attached txt.shx font into the appropriate directory below:

C:\Users<username>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\webdeploy\production\1dbb5d3f92e107648ab9cf6886d41aceca85efd3\FusionDocStream\Autodesk\FusionDocAcad\Fonts folder

You will need to re-upload the SHX file to the directory above each time Fusion 360 is updated until this issue is fixed by development.

On the crash, would you mind providing a little more detail? In what program are you editing the text in the DWG file? How is the DWG being brought back into Fusion (as a title block or uploaded file)? A screencast may help illustrate this process and I'm happy to have a look at the DWG file if you wouldn't mind sharing it with me.

I'm having the same problem with text in the title block. I tried your suggested fix, but it didn't work. Once I edit the text, use the finish editing button and return to the drawing view, it disappears. If I'm in the editing mode, it's visible. If I double click the title block, it's visible but only at maybe 10-20% opacity but it disappears again once I click outside of the block or hit esc. I use the drawing feature pretty regularly for inspection sheets, so if there's another possible fix, even if it's complicated, I'm willing to try it.
Overall I'm not too happy with the update to the title block, though I understand that it could be useful for others. If there was an option to keep the old editor, I would be very happy. Or if I could just edit the text inside the default box, that'd be good too.

Thanks for posting. You might not like this answer, but the only way to do this at this time in Fusion 360 is to use templates. Using templates works the same as creating any other drawing in Fusion 360 and I've shown the process below.

Hello,

I have looked for the folder below but I don't have it, there was not a
"1dbb5d3f92e107648ab9cf6886d41aceca85efd3" folder under webdeploy.

C:\Users\AppData\Local\Autodesk\webdeploy\production\
1dbb5d3f92e107648ab9cf6886d41aceca85efd3\FusionDocStream\Autodesk\FusionDocAcad\Fonts
folder

This title block file exported from Fusion and then exploded so there are
no blocks, crashes Fusion.

Thanks,

Hi @dbigham

Thanks for posting! I should have clarified - this folder is a unique alphanumeric ID, so it may appear differently on your system. Do any of the alphanumeric IDs at the filepath in my previous post allow you to access the "FusionDocStream" folder? You may need to show hidden files and folders.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any questions.
