I'll definitely raise this internally with the folks, but what did the email entail? Early adopter prices should not change as far as I am aware. Did you purchase through the Mac App Store?

If there is no personal information on the email, do you mind forwarding it to me at james.youmatz@autodesk.com

Thanks,

Thats fine but no one has contacted me and i was forced to subscribe the higher apple store contract to not loosing my early adopter license. Since that, now 6 days ago no one have contacted me. The next bad news is, that the early adopter plan that i have contracted, for monthly paying but for the tier down plan only annum payment is possible.

@James.Youmatz, @Anonymous Please ask how long it will take or if I was forgotten.

Hi James,

Thanks for your team's private messages, Patrick's offer was very kind, however as I'm essentially being forced out of the Fusion 360 community, I want to make public to the community why I'm forced to change across to Google Sketchup, hence here is a copy of my most recent email to you, in which I declined your kind offer and explained my business reasons for ditching Fusion 360. Thanks again.

"Hi Patrick,

Thanks for your kind offer to convert to an annual subscription, however my very regrettable decision is to let my subscription expire and use Google Sketchup. I'll be encouraging others to do the same in the home-workshop / small hobby business arena, so that we can all easily exchange files. We don't need the Fusion Ultimate facilities, nor can we afford to pay the Fusion Ultimate price, which in effect is what you are asking us to do, or asking late-comers to our business to do.

As you've been so kind, I'll explain my business case for dropping Fusion 360 in favour of Google Sketchup.

First of all, and without protesting the matter, may I say that as I signed up for an annual subscription but paid monthly, I believe that properly, Fusion 360 should have honoured the monthly amount for that 12 months before a price rise. Nevertheless, as I'd not be continuing after that 12 months, the business case for me discontinuing on October 30 (the date I've been told I will lose my subscription if I don't agree to the higher monthly amount) is that it would be a waste of resources designing in Fusion 360 and then ditching all of the artefacts after 12 months because I'd have to change across to Google Sketchup then.

Secondly, the current monthly sum is affordable, the new one is not. I'm a small business startup and I don't make money yet for using Fusion 360, my business plan is to spend 12 months designing moulds for aluminium casting, and only then when I start selling the products, would there be more funds available for Fusion 360. My business plan is to take advantage of the new 'aluminium revolution' if one can call it that, where cheap 3D printing entry-points have lowered the threshold for small businesses to rapidly deploy new aluminium cast products.

The third thing is that I don't need any of the facilities in Fusion Ultimate, and although I can't afford the new price anyway, I wonder very much why I would be strong-armed into paying for facilities that I will never use. My need is just to design a product and export it as an STL to my MakerBot 3D printer..

The fourth thing is that despite your very kind offer to have the current price if I swap across to an annual subscription, the very reason I undertook the monthly subscription is because I can't afford the annual subscription, hence despite your very kind offer, it is not possible for me to accept it. But this makes me think that Autodesk is penalising the very small businessman and giving the rewards just to those who can afford the single lump sum payment.

There is also something very ironic here, do you remember the days where a customer would buy a software product and once he installed it he would have it forever with no need to upgrade to a new product? This new subscription model ensures a repeating purchase fee every year and I think it is one of big businesses' harsh cons upon the business community.

Fortunately with Google Sketchup, whilst I'm a small business not making too much money it is free for me, and when I start making money that changes my licensing context, my loyalty will be with them because by then I will have project artefacts that have hundreds of hours invested in them.

Thank-you for your assistance and very kind attempt to try and make it work for me within Autodesk's guidelines, but regrettably my next two days will be all about exporting my current artefacts and trying to salvage what I can that might be useful to me using Google Sketchup.

Kind regards,

"

Thanks and kind regards,

Anthony

@James.Youmatz, Patrick came back to me and pointed out the exciting thing that small businessmen like myself qualify for the Fusion 360 Startup Licence and hence, in a single email, drew me back to thinking that for all my business needs - and for the business needs of anyone who might join the same community that I am part of - that Fusion 360 is the way to go!

Hence I'm applying for the Startup licence - thanks so much to you and your staff for all of your help, this 24 hours was a roller-coaster!

Kind regards,

Anthony
