Hi @Anonymous,

welcome to Fusion 360 Community Forum and thanks for posting. From the screenshot you attached, I can see that you are in the sculpt workspace. The feature you mentioned is only available in the Model and the Patch workspace, see our Fusion 360 Learning Site on the Split Body Dialog Box.

Note: I can see you have T-Splines and a mesh body in your design. To be able to split them, they need to be converted to solids first:

I hope this helps!

Best regards,

From what I've read here, splitting a body into two parts sounds like a snap. My own experience is rather unsatisfactory, however.

Just select "split body" from the modify menu and the rest pretty much does itself. The catch is that, on my copy at least, there is no such menu entry. (See screen grab above). Searching for it by hitting "s" and typing in "split body" finds nothing. (Had a screen grab of that too, but looks like one per post is all you get). Thus, what I had tentatively expected to be a fairly simple task has degenerated into a wild goose chase for things that simply aren't there. Not much you can do about a case of non-presence.

Not the first such frustration in my short time questionably invested in this product. Thus far, the correspondence between the solutions presented here and the behavior of the program on my end has been rather weak. When is this thing getting out of beta, anyway?

Split Body does not make much sense in the sculpt environment.

But in general the sculpt environment is the wrong environment if you are working with a triangulated mesh.

Sculpt is for quad meshes.

If you want to modify a triangulated mesh similar to the one shown in your screenshots then you need to covert the mesh to a BRep.
