I'm a bit of a noob. But I'm happy to say I've been learning fast. Then this happens:

I create a 2D sketch. Then I position it where I want it - then I try to copy/past that sketch - but copy and paste are missing from the context menu when I right click on said sketch either in the object tree or in the workspace. So I go back to a different drawing and copy/paste works in whatever mode I'm in. But then I come back to this document and there is no option to copy/paste sketch objects. I'm so confused.
I also noticed that "Sculpt" isn't an option in the "change workspace" drop-down.

So now I'm even more confused. 😞

Any help would be appreciated for sure.

Well, its easy to understand like this

When you have the articles copied, you have to be in an Editing session of the Destination sketch,

Right Click, and Paste or just Control / Command + V.

To get something copied, be in the modelling window, the articles to copy need to be visible. You do not have to be in an active sketch, window select the sketch articles to copy,

Right click, and Copy or just Control / Command + C. After copying the articles they have to be de-selected, and get into the destination sketch as mentioned.

Sculpt in the old interface is still on my top menu, and found near the bottom of the Modelling > Create Menu.

Might help....

You have a sketch visible.

Hide Everything else in the model, (Lightbulbs off) you only want Fusion to select what you can see or part of it.

Window select the sketch article/s you want to copy,

it / they will highlight blue.

Right Click, and find the word Copy in that Menu. Click Copy.

now Click in the window to deselect the blue bits, should go back to normal.

(Your selection has been copied to memory - but nothing happens on screen)

Edit the Sketch you want to Paste into, (can be the same sketch you were in, works in any sketch being Edited).

with nothing selected in the window, Right Click, find Paste in that Menu, Click Paste.

You will see the sketch article/s and the Move triad, (if in the same sketch will be on top of the originals at this stage)

move the pasted sketch articles to where you want them, when Done press OK in the Dialogue that came with it.

I just want to sketch some shapes that I can then use to create a loft.

Works for that in most cases.

If you don't know the Command / Control +C or V key system, then use those Menus.

Might help...

Firstly, thank you very much for your help. I appreciate it.

I don't think I've explained my problem very well.

The other day - I created a model of the heel from a high heel shoe. To do this. I used canvases as references, and created a sketch of the bottom of the shoe. Then I copied and pasted that sketch upward along the column of the heel at regular intervals. Then I used the reference images to reshape each sketch to match the cross section contour of the heel. Once I had all the sketches the way I wanted them - I created a loft using them. There were 9 sketches in total. It worked great. I had no issues of any kind.
Well - one issue - in that my reference images weren't taken at 90degree angles and such - so I needed to take new reference images and start from scratch.

So I did... I put the new reference images in place. Then I created my first sketch.... but when I right clicked the sketch to copy/paste it. There was no copy available in the context menu. Likewise, when I used Cntl-V, I heard an error 'beep' and no copy was thrown to memory.

I've made a screen recording to demonstrate how I make the sketch.
YOUTUBE VIDEO

Maybe that will help determine what I'm doing wrong. I'm a noob with this application and have only moderate experience with Cheetah3D, Sketchup, or other 3D modeling tools. I love fusion so far - but this has hurt my brain.

In the design you made sketch copies in you did not have history enabled. If you're now not seeing the option to copy a sketch from the browser you have the timeline\history.

Without history copying a sketch is easy as there are no references or dependencies, with history just too much to go wrong so it's not allowed.

Sorry - as a History modeller, I didn’t know you could copy a whole sketch from the Browser,

my description is with history turned on, it works, what did you mean, it is not allowed?

Copying a whole sketch from the browser is not allowed with history enable. Allowed, maybe not the right word, not possible might be a better description.
